The Private Client Manager is about providing the highest level of service to our high net worth clients, a segment that is growing at an accelerating pace.  

As a Private Client Manager, you will join a team serving our growing client base of high net worth households. You will be responsible for supporting and developing relationships with our largest clients, helping them with everything Wealthsimple from administrative to money movement to getting on the next beta test list. By giving first-class service, you will deliver exceptional client experiences that builds long lasting client love and trust.

Today the financial services industry is an oligopoly dominated by five big banks. They charge high fees, and provide poor service to clients with less than $3M in net worth. Additionally over $2T in assets are in the Wealth Management sector and a large portion of these assets are investing with high fees and poor returns. We believe that it is time for something different for Canadians. While many financial services companies are focused on high net worth clients, we have seen first hand in our growth of this group that they value a new tech-enabled approach that can provide more value, transparency, and higher quality advice, at a lower cost. 

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide an excellent support experience for clients eligible for concierge service ($1M +)

  • Own your sales targets. 

  • You will be the go to point of contact for eligible clients. To resolve client inquiries, you will make relationships and pull in cross-functional stakeholders; Portfolio Management, Customer Success, Operations, Product Specialists, etc. (clients will have your direct email and phone number)

  • You will not be bound to a specific schedule, but will be expected to respond to clients and make client calls outside of business hours (evenings and weekends)

  • You will advocate for your clients to speed up resolution times - example: prioritizing JIRA tickets 

  • You are responsible for ensuring clients needs are being met by proactively understanding their engagement and reaching out to assist them when necessary (example: facilitating an introduction to financial planning)

  • You have a growth mindset and understand how to grow Wealthsimple’s share of wallet with existing customers as you will be held accountable to a sales quota 

  • You will give product demos and assist clients in adopting Wealthsimple products that best suit their needs 

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Client-focused - Always put the client first

  • Designations - Must have the CSC

  • Growth Oriented - You are competitive and get energy by influencing clients to increase their share of wallet with Wealthsimple 

  • Thrive in client facing situations -  Your clients come first and you will move mountains to make things happen for them

  • Organized - You can context switch quickly and stay on top of many different client scenarios concurrently - you never let things slip through the cracks 

  • Detail Oriented - We all make mistakes, but you sweat the details to minimize the surface area  of mistakes and if you make a mistake, you are skilled in turning things around 

  • Product Expert - You don’t know everything about the Wealthsimple ecosystem of products, but almost... if there is something you don’t know, you know how to find out and quickly 

  • Communication - You are an excellent communicator, verbal and written. You can adjust your style to suit the client you are working with and you’re always clear, concise, and simple

  • Calm - You keep your cool no matter the situation and demonstrate good judgment under pressure
