Scam Alert: Fake Websites Impersonating Working Nomads

Important Notice: We are aware of ongoing scam activity targeting Australian residents by impersonating Working Nomads.

Scammers are contacting individuals via WhatsApp and Telegram, directing them to fake websites that imitate Working Nomads, and then requesting payment after claiming work has been completed.

These scams often involve requests for cryptocurrency payments. Working Nomads never requests payment via cryptocurrency of any kind from candidates.

What You Need to Know

  • Our only official website is workingnomads.com
  • We do not contact candidates via WhatsApp or Telegram
  • We do not request payments via cryptocurrency

How to Identify the Scam

Scammers use lookalike domain names to appear legitimate. If the website domain is not workingnomads.com, it is not associated with us.

Examples of fraudulent domains include:

  • working-nomads.work
  • workingnomads-world.net
  • workingnomads-aus.com

How This Scam Works (Real Examples)

Based on reports we have received, the scam typically follows this pattern:

  • You are contacted via WhatsApp, then moved to Telegram
  • You are offered simple “dispatch” or “task-based” work with promised commissions
  • You may receive a small initial payment to build trust
  • You are then given “urgent” tasks that place your account into a negative balance
  • You are told you must pay your own money (often cryptocurrency) to restore your balance
  • The required payments keep increasing, with promises of a larger payout afterward

What We Are Doing

  • Requesting immediate takedown of fraudulent websites
  • Reporting scam activity to Australian authorities
  • Actively monitoring for new impersonation attempts

In recent weeks, we have already taken down multiple scam websites, but unfortunately, new ones continue to appear.
