Scam Alert: Fake Websites Impersonating Working Nomads
Scammers are contacting individuals via WhatsApp and Telegram, directing them to fake websites and apps that imitate Working Nomads, and then requesting payment after claiming work or “tasks” have been completed.
These scams often involve requests for cryptocurrency or upfront personal payments. Working Nomads never requests payment of any kind from candidates.
🚩 Red Flags Checklist
If you experience any of the following, it is a scam:
- You are contacted out of the blue via WhatsApp or Telegram
- You are offered “easy”, “dispatch”, or “task-based” work with fast daily earnings
- You are shown polished graphics or dashboards claiming to represent Working Nomads
- You are given an Employee ID, training account, or asked to “register” an account
- You are told your account has gone into a negative balance
- You are asked to use your own money to unlock withdrawals
What You Need to Know
- Our only official website is workingnomads.com
- We do not contact candidates via WhatsApp or Telegram
- We do not offer “dispatch”, “task-based”, or commission-only jobs
- We do not require training accounts, employee IDs, or upfront deposits
How to Identify the Scam
Scammers use lookalike domain names, fake dashboards, and copied branding to appear legitimate.
If the website domain is not workingnomads.com, it is not associated with us.
Examples of fraudulent domains include:

How This Scam Works (Real Examples)
Based on multiple reports and screenshots we have received, the scam typically follows this pattern:
- You are contacted unexpectedly via WhatsApp and then moved to Telegram
- You are shown polished graphics claiming to represent Working Nomads roles, salaries, and benefits
- You are asked to create a login or are given a fake Employee ID
- You are promised commissions (often 20–30%) and fast withdrawals
- You may receive a small initial payment to build trust
- You are encouraged to accept “urgent” jobs that push your account into a negative balance
- You are told you must use your own money to restore the balance before withdrawing
Example Scam Messages
The following are real examples reported to us. These messages do not come from Working Nomads:
- “You’ll receive a 26% commission directly to your account once you’ve completed the training.”
- “Please share your Employee ID so I can register a training account for you.”
- “Your account is currently in a negative balance due to urgent jobs.”
- “You need to restore the negative amount first, then you can withdraw everything with commission.”
What We Are Doing
- Requesting immediate takedown of fraudulent websites and apps
- Reporting scam activity to Australian authorities
- Actively monitoring for new impersonation attempts
We have already taken down multiple scam websites, but unfortunately new ones continue to appear.
