The Role:

The Platform Engineering Intern is responsible for supporting infrastructure and developer tooling initiatives across Gametime’s platform. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience with real-world cloud infrastructure, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and developer enablement practices within a high-scale production environment. The ideal candidate is a curious and proactive learner eager to gain practical skills in automation, DevOps, and cloud-native development.

 

Above & Beyond: The Impact You'll Make:

  • Collaborate with Platform Engineers to improve and extend Terraform modules and internal tooling

  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines by enhancing workflows and adding automation for quality gates

  • Support observability efforts by building dashboards, adding alerting, and integrating metrics

  • Assist with documentation, onboarding tools, and scripts that support developer experience

  • Participate in planning and standups to gain exposure to infrastructure design and trade-offs

 

One Team One Dream: What We Need to Work Together:

  • Technical Skills:

    • Exposure to public cloud environments (AWS preferred).

    • Comfort with Bash, Python, or Go for small tooling tasks.

    • Understanding of containers, basic networking, and infrastructure lifecycle.

    Interpersonal Skills:

    • Ability to pair program, follow feedback, and ask thoughtful questions.

    • Capable of documenting work clearly and discussing technical topics with peers.

    Problem-Solving and Decision-Making:

    • Uses logs, metrics, or guides to investigate and resolve simple issues.

    • Approaches challenges with a desire to learn and understand the bigger picture.

    • Looks beyond the surface to find the root cause of problems.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor’s program in Computer Science or related field.

    • Experience: Entry level

    • Other Requirements:

      • Familiarity with the CLI on Linux systems

      • Experience using Git

      • Strong written and verbal communication skills
