Bioinformatics Specialist I
Labcorp is seeking a US remote based Bioinformatics Specialist I to join it’s team!
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (local time zone)
Responsibilities:
Ensure and maintain the delivery of accurate clinical reports by reviewing batch and sample level data for patient samples for Invitae, part of Labcorp
Create tools and workflows to ensure the accurate processing and troubleshooting of sample data and clinical systems
Next generation sequencing (NGS) performance metric analysis and monitoring
Assess and troubleshoot the data systems that orchestrate the lab and bioinformatics processes
Track measures of operational excellence (e.g. order turnaround time)
Address production bottlenecks, investigate their causes, and facilitate solutions
Develop software scripts and queries for analysis and automation
Monitor delayed samples and support their resolution
Assist in incident responses, process improvements, and product development
Execute SOP development and improvement
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
6 years of experience working in a molecular biology environment and troubleshooting lab or software pipelines
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 2 years of experience working in a molecular biology environment and troubleshooting lab or software pipelines
1 yr experience with bash scripting
1 yr experience Python, R, or other programming languages
1 yr experience Git or other version control systems
1 yr experience Project management software such as Jira, Asana, Monday.com
Additional Job Standards:
Working knowledge of molecular genetics and experience with next generation sequencing (NGS) data, preferably in a production setting
Process analysis, design, and improvement experience
Experience manipulating data and troubleshooting applications in UNIX-based environments
Familiarity with working in a high throughput environment and thinking about problems of scale
Superior oral and written communication skills and the ability to clearly communicate technical findings to non-technical teammates
Excellent ability to work with people across different teams and specializations

**Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000 / year
All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Casual, PRN & Part Time employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours are eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan only.
