About the role:
We are seeking a Technical Project Manager with deep expertise in WordPress and experience managing design and engineering teams within an agency environment. In this role, you will lead cross-functional teams to deliver large-scale WordPress projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes. You will have the flexibility to choose your hours and collaborate with world-class engineers and designers, fostering a culture of teamwork and communication. We are open to both full-time and part-time candidates for this position.
Seniority Level: Mid-Senior Level
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of engineers and designers to ensure timely completion of technical projects.
Oversee the full project lifecycle, from initial planning and design to deployment and maintenance of large-scale WordPress sites.
Create and optimize internal management processes, including setting up sprints/epics, deadlines, and Gantt charts.
Collaborate with executives, clients, and team members to troubleshoot issues and keep projects on track.
Define project roles and responsibilities among team members, ensuring clear communication and accountability.
Schedule and lead regular team meetings to discuss project status, challenges, and progress.
Document and follow up on important decisions made during meetings with clients and stakeholders.
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of technical experience, with a strong background in WordPress and web technologies, particularly in managing large-scale sites.
Proven experience in a project management role within an agency setting, managing both design and engineering teams.
Expertise in software project management, including full-cycle project development and deployment coordination.
Hands-on experience in debugging technical issues and managing QA processes.
Strong leadership skills with a focus on accountability and decision-making, working closely with developers, designers, and clients.
Ability to proactively identify challenges and implement solutions.
Familiarity with agile/scrum development processes and startup environments.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
A knack for benchmarking and optimization.
