Job Summary: As a Cloud Architect, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our Professional Services engagements by providing robust engineering expertise and technical consultation. Your primary focus will be assisting customers in designing purpose-built systems tailored to their specific infrastructure requirements. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the implementation of technical solutions, managing customer migrations (such as relocations, consolidations, and cloud migrations), and driving data center modernizations as outlined in the Statement of Work.
In addition to your architectural and hands-on involvement in projects, you will actively contribute to the development and documentation of reusable toolsets, components, and modules, fostering efficiency and consistency for future client engagements. As a lead engineer on complex projects, you will collaborate closely with consultants to align customer business strategies with IT architecture, ensuring the delivery of Rackspace products and services in a sustainable and scalable manner.
Your role will extend to building strong relationships with key technical personnel within client organizations, fostering effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement migration and other solutions as defined by SoWs and migration plans.
Monitor, log and test customer configurations for performance and stability.
Proactively identify potential issues and work through resolution withstakeholders.
Collaborate with consultants to ensure customer configurations are built and delivered with long-term sustainability and scalability.
Troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis and performance tuning. Implement new technologies in customer environments, including upgrades, virtualization projects, and advanced infrastructure projects.
Perform network analysis for client networks, identify deficiencies, recommend and implement improvements for stabilization.
Generate and maintain configuration documents for all client production networks and systems.
Work with external customers, internal support and build teams to determine how best to leverage tools and techniques involving infrastructure as code, configuration management and other DevOps-type techniques to improve delivery quality, speed and experience.
Network with key contacts and stakeholders internally and externally to drive process and efficiency in implementations.
Serve as a technical expert for support and customers alike. Actively take ownership to address issues and solve problems, understanding up and downstream impacts and designing/delivering solutions appropriately.
Serve as a mentor to other engineers. Develop and implement best practices for team processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in information technology or a related technical field. Advanced degree preferred.
Must have Google Professional Cloud Architect Certification.
10+ years of industry experience in technical engineering and/or pre or post sales engineering and architecture.
Experience facilitating discussions with senior leadership regarding technical/architectural trade-offs, best practices, and risk mitigation
Direct hands-on experience leading the design, development and deployment of business software at scale or recent hands-on technology infrastructure, network, compute, and virtualization experience
Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile/Iterative methodologies
Experience with Integration of cloud services with on-premises technologies from Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, HP, SAP, etc.
Scripting and/or coding skills like Java, Python, Bash, PowerShell
Advanced, hands-on experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management through DevOps tooling such as CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, Puppet and Chef
Strong practical Linux and Windows-based system administration skills in a Cloud or Virtualized environments
Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges
Expert knowledge of OS technologies for customer configuration: Windows, RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.
Strong track record of implementing GCP services in a variety of distributed computing environments
Leading highly available and fault tolerant enterprise and web-scale software deployments
Large scale migration experience Data Center to Data Center and/or Data Center to Cloud
Advanced understanding of application deployment/configuration processes.

•The anticipated starting pay range for Colorado is: $128,300 - $188,210.
•The anticipated starting pay range for the states of Hawaii and New York (not including NYC) is: $136,600 - $200,310.
•The anticipated starting pay range for California, New York City and Washington is: $149,500 - $219,230.
Unless already included in the posted pay range and based on eligibility, the role may include variable compensation in the form of bonus, commissions, or other discretionary payments. These discretionary payments are based on company and/or individual performance and may change at any time. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications, and specific work location.
