Virtasant is a leading cloud consulting services provider. We heavily focus on lift & shift, cloud-native development, cloud cost optimization, and migration services. As a consulting company, we often face the challenge of creating an engineering team in a matter of a week or two. To do that, we have created a secondary support business that runs a talent network and provides staffing services.
The Data Science / Analyst will be responsible for collaborating with Client’s Infrastructure Capacity team to develop and integrate data science and reporting tools that support infrastructure capacity management. This includes strategic planning, model development, tool enhancement, dashboard design, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Qualifications/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
5+ years of experience in data science, data analytics, or a related role with a focus on predictive modeling, data visualization, and reporting.
Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in developing predictive models using statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms (e.g., regression, time-series analysis, clustering, etc.).
Advanced skills knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar, including experience in creating and optimizing interactive dashboards.
Strong experience with data processing and automation tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL, ETL tools).
Familiarity with infrastructure capacity management or IT infrastructure environments is a plus.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate them into actionable insights.
Ability to develop mathematical and statistical models to forecast trends and support decision-making processes.
Proficiency in using machine learning algorithms to enhance data-driven insights.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
High attention to detail with a commitment to data accuracy, quality, and consistency in all deliverables.
Ability to identify and troubleshoot data anomalies and reporting issues effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) and data integration tools.
Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Spinnaker, Docker) related to data science and machine learning pipelines.
Previous experience working in a capacity management or infrastructure planning role.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Infrastructure Capacity team to define data requirements, reporting objectives, and visualization needs.
Design and develop mathematical and statistical models for forecasting infrastructure usage and capacity trends.
Enhance and automate reporting processes using tools like Tableau or similar platforms, ensuring real-time insights and seamless dashboard updates.
Create and refine interactive dashboards to communicate key infrastructure metrics and forecasts clearly and intuitively.
Operate within an Agile framework to continuously refine models, tools, and dashboards based on stakeholder feedback and organizational objectives.
