Software Engineer II, Production Applications
YOUR TEAM
We build technology to enable users (from data scientists to analysts to policy-makers) to understand healthcare data while ensuring its integrity, security and privacy. Our work runs the gamut from joining streams of messy real-world data to building queryable data warehouses to constructing visualizations and dashboards that provide actionable insight. We build systems that are auditable, automated, an accurate representation of the underlying data, and, most importantly, responsive to our end users' needs. Production Applications builds the web applications that provide the essential reporting needed to operate value-based care programs and evaluate their effectiveness. We’re a full stack team that owns serving schema up to the customer-facing UI. We strive to ensure enterprise-grade stability and startup-grade velocity by instrumenting a well-tested code base and infrastructure that is secure-by-default.
YOUR OPPORTUNITIES
In this role, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our overall architecture and strategy. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with a highly skilled team of engineers and health data experts. Your work will directly impact our ability to provide critical data to our customers in a format that they can understand and rely on.
Your responsibilities will include:
Building performant, well-documented, scalable APIs that can answer the complex questions our users have about their data
Partnering with other engineers to solve complex business and engineering problems
Designing schemas in partnership with the data engineers and health data experts that can quickly serve results and generate reports
Building a well-tested, continuously-deployable, and high-quality codebase that supports developer velocity and exceptional reliability
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications
Passionate about our mission: improving healthcare access and affordability for all
Curiosity for learning, being a self-starter who is eager to try new things
Proficiency in programming languages such as python, java, javascript or other relevant languages
2+ years of experience in a full-time software engineering role
Excellent debugging and data analysis skills with real experience problem-solving with data
Ability to write clearly and document their ideas
Passionate about writing high-quality code
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with cloud technologies
Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing
Experience with data in healthcare, fintech, or other similar industries.
Experience working on compliant and secure systems, in partnership with audit, legal, and security
We take into account an individual’s qualifications, skillset, and experience in determining final salary. This role is eligible for health insurance, life insurance, retirement benefits, participation in the company’s equity program, paid time off, including vacation and sick leave. The expected salary range for this position is $115,000 to 141,250. The actual offer will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by relevant business considerations, including the final candidate’s qualifications, years of experience, and skillset.
