This position will focus on supporting the Fabric business organization. In this role, you will develop, deploy, and maintain Real-Time Operating System and hypervisor configurations for Safety-Critical applications. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate, Experienced and Senior Level Software Engineers.
Position Responsibilities:
Leads and/or contributes to activities to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems. Develops code and integrates complex software components into a fully functional software system.
Contributes to hypervisor (i.e. Xen) deployment, configuration, and integration for safety-critical partitioned environments.
Supports runtime maturation efforts including performance analysis, determinism validation, and reliability improvements.
Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met.
Provides technical leadership for software projects. Leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics. Plans, executes and documents software research and development projects.
Serves as a subject matter expert for RTOS and hypervisor domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
Bachelor's degree
5+ Years professional development experience in the C programming language
3+ Years of professional experience developing in a RTOS development environment
2+ Years professional experience projects related to embedded, device driver, or Linux kernel internals programming
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Mid-Level (Level 3): Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 5+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and 9+ years of directly related work experience OR 13+ years of related, relevant experience
Senior-Level (Level 4): Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 9+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and 13+ years of directly related work experience OR 17+ years of related, relevant experience
Level 3: 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Level 4: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Some professional experience with hypervisor technologies (e.g. Xen, KVM) or partitioned operating environments
Experience with Xen hypervisor configuration and deployment
Experience with ARINC 653 and/or POSIX
Experience with the full software development life cycle: requirements, use-cases, architecture, design, testing, integration, deployment, etc...
Experience contributing to Open Source Software (OSS)
Experience in any combination of the following additional languages – C++, Python, Rust
Experience with git, gcc, clang, bazel
Experience with Yocto or Buildroot build systems
Experience with bootloaders and boot chain configuration
Experience in multiple processor families (e.g. x86, ARM)
Experience debugging complex kernel or hypervisor issues
Experience using docker/podman containers
Experience with CI/CD tooling such as Gitlab CI
Experience in aerospace and defense industry
Experience with estimating and costing new business
