At SMG, we build blockchain applications for decentralized finance on Ethereum and other layers & chains. We are engineering the future of finance with automation, smart contracts, and mechanisms design.

What you’ll do

We’re looking for an up and coming engineer who’s excited to sink their teeth into the blockchain space. You’d be joining a team of crypto enthusiasts who are leading the DeFi & MEV frontier. You will create and contribute to automation software and infrastructure that powers DeFi protocols and products within the Ethereum ecosystem and beyond. 

You will be working directly with the top minds in the crypto space. An initial starting point may be building and contributing to our automated test suite as it will help you learn your way around. You’ll then be exposed to a large variety of our infrastructure with opportunities to contribute around a variety of components, backend infrastructure, auction mechanisms, trading bots, smart contracts, etc.

Would be great if you brought this to the role

• Comfortable programming in Python, and other object oriented programming languages in general

• A basic understanding of Ethereum, blockchain, DeFi, etc

• Interested in crypto

• Enjoys collaborating with others

• Thrives on learning new things

• Works efficiently while being fully remote

• Has a desire to write performance optimized code

• Is interested in complex systems and algorithms, and a willingness to learn them

• Comfortable with Linux based Operating Systems, or a willingness to learn

• Should be able to share a codebase you contributed to. Preferably, you should be able to run it locally. This will be used for the technical interview
