Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain WarehousePG extensions, migration tools, monitoring systems, and performance optimizations. You will collaborate with project teams to enhance existing codebases, address bugs, implement new features, and ensure high-quality database performance. This role also involves reviewing patches, merging upstream changes, writing test cases and running tests, troubleshooting issues, etc.

What your impact will be:

  • Design and develop database features and tools (e.g., data migration systems, PostgreSQL extensions, monitoring solutions).

  • Maintain and improve existing database code while implementing new features.

  • Review and refine code contributions from team members to ensure quality.

  • Write and maintain regression tests for bug fixes and new features.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve database, network, and software-related issues.

  • Work within CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth integration and deployment.

What you will bring:

  • 7+ years of relevant database development experience, preferably with PostgreSQL.

  • Strong expertise in C/C++ or Go programming.

  • Solid CS fundamentals (algorithm, OS, data structures)

  • Proficiency in Linux-based software development and debugging.

  • Experience writing regression tests and optimizing database products performance.

  • Experience in CI/CD practices and tools.

  • Strong problem-solving skills in database and system troubleshooting.

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and collaborative).

What will give you an edge:

  • Proficiency in Java.

  • Solid understanding of PostgreSQL internals and database principles.

  • Experience with distributed databases (e.g., Greenplum).

  • Familiarity with machine learning/AI techniques.

  • Knowledge of GitHub Actions workflows.

  • Prior contributions to open-source database projects.
