Senior Software Engineer, Enterprise Engineering

You'll be instrumental in shaping the future of how we operate internally, leveraging technology to streamline operations, enhance communication, and drive efficiency across the board.

As part of the dynamic Enterprise Engineering group, you will be thrust into the forefront of developing sophisticated integration services and bespoke internal applications. Your efforts will ensure the scalability and reliability of our systems, supporting Reddit's ambitious expansion plans. The team is equipped with a diverse arsenal of technological tools, from industry-standard iPaaS solutions to our proprietary Kubernetes-based deployment models and in-house rapid development frameworks designed to turbocharge our application delivery process.

Learn Reddit best practices as you partner closely with other CorpTech team members & business partners across the company, including, but not limited to, Legal, Safety, People Ops, Privacy, and Security. The ideal candidate for this position thrives on making robust applications with easy-to-use user interfaces through creative solutions and automation.

Responsibilities 

• Spearheading the design and development of a state-of-the-art continuous feedback tool, alongside other strategic internal applications, to streamline Reddit’s operational processes.

• Collaborating intimately with members of the CorpTech team and stakeholders across the organization, including Legal, Safety, People Operations, Privacy, and Security, to deliver solutions that meet cross-functional needs.

• Innovating and implementing robust, user-friendly applications by employing automation and creative problem-solving techniques.

• Ensuring the highest standards of application performance, availability, and security, aligned with Reddit’s growth and scalability objectives.

• Participate in technical design sessions and develop detailed technical design documentation taking fault-tolerant event handling and monitoring into account.

• Continually exploring and integrating new technologies and methodologies to enhance development efficiency and application quality.

• Participate in code reviews for ongoing projects to ensure the highest level of code quality and appropriate design patterns.

• Deliver ideas and solutions to many audiences, including your team and CorpTech leadership.

Qualifications

• A passionate and experienced full-stack engineer with a proven track record of building and scaling complex web applications.

• 5+ years of industry experience with deep expertise in a broad range of technologies, including but not limited to Python, React, and familiarity with Kubernetes, Tilt, Terraform, and Docker.

• A strong foundation in best practices for software development, including agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.

• Ability to develop integration services across business applications in a multi-project, high-growth environment.

• Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to think outside the box to deliver innovative solutions.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a knack for understanding and translating business requirements into technical solutions, as well as writing technical design documentation and runbooks.

• Experience using an “Integration Platform as a Service” (iPaaS) or “Extract Transform Load” (ETL) software, such as Workato or Airflow, is a plus.

• Experience at a public company or with SOX processes is preferred.
