Grafana is looking for a Senior Payroll Analyst to join our Finance team. Reporting to the International Payroll Manager, this is an opportunity to join a fast-growing startup and play a driving role in our payroll operations. 

We’re scaling quickly and this role is perfect for someone who enjoys looking for opportunities to advance their skills in a fulfilling environment. The candidate should expect to leverage current skill-sets while also focusing on learning quickly and adding value to the current processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Payroll processing (HC 450), we work with external payroll provider (ActivPayroll):

    • Australia

    • Austria

    • Canada (semi-monthly)

    • France

    • Germany

    • India

    • Netherlands

    • Singapore

    • Spain

    • Sweden

    • UK

  • Input preparation – review integration data and add anything missing onto manual input sheet

  • Answer vendor queries about input/payroll

  • Output preparation – reconciliation and controls to be completed in a given template (salary, benefits, one time payments, proration review)

  • Send reconciliation for review and approval to payroll manager 

  • Send bank file/ manual payment details to GL team to complete fundings

  • Employee queries – handle employee questions, support and issues (we always try go the extra mile if we can) 

  • Frequent collaboration with other teams on various topics (PeopleOps, benefits, accounting, integration, project teams etc)

  • Audits – gather data for audits, go through reconciliations and payroll reports from the past periods to handle issues etc – overall problem solving when it comes to incorrect payroll processing of some elements etc 

  • Invoice processing (direct contractors, HC 150) – invoice review and approval

  • Handle research / review on various topics related to payroll processing

  • Overall process improvement – any manual processes to be changed to automatic

  • HR system – Workday

Requirements:

  • International payroll experience, working with external vendors (preferably at least 3 countries)

  • Ability to accurately process all payrolls (we always aim for 100%)

  • Very organized

  • Quick learner

  • Logical thinking and clear understanding

  • Detail oriented and quick 

  • Problem solving (up for challenges, wants to resolve issues which don’t have clear resolution; dig deep and get to the bottom of issues)

  • Advanced excel skills (vlookups and pivots are crucial)

  • Happy to work in a start-up environment with frequent changes

Nice to have: 

  • Process documentation / manuals experience

  • Recent Workday experience 

  • Additional language

  • Payroll controls set up, improvement

  • Benefits processing and rules experience 

In the United Kingdom, the base compensation range for this role is £53,000 - £64,000.  Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed in the interview process. Benefits include equity, bonus (if applicable) and other benefits listed here.*Compensation ranges are country specific.
