The Sandberg Goldberg Bernthal Family Foundation (SGBFF) works to build a more equal and resilient world. We bring people together to support each other through four initiatives: LeanIn.Org, LeanInGirls.Org, OptionB.Org, and the Dave Goldberg Scholarship Program.

We are seeking a Senior Manager of Quantitative Research to lead the quantitative analysis for our original research. This will include spearheading all survey development and data analysis for  Lean In and McKinsey & Company’s annual Women in the Workplace study, the largest study on the state of women in corporate America.

This would be an extraordinary opportunity for someone who enjoys immersing themselves in large-data sets, partnering with diverse stakeholders to create content that resonates, and developing research that drives positive social change.

What You Will Do

  • Lead review and synthesis of data from multiple sources and deliver key takeaways that are engaging and comprehensible to cross-functional colleagues

  • Design surveys and other quantitative data collection instruments in a collaborative and iterative process

  • Translate broader foundation interests into precise and analyzable research questions

  • Develop efficient ways to access and integrate large data sets from multiple sources

  • Work with the design team to create compelling data visualizations for public audiences

  • Collaborate with internal program leaders to develop systems for assessing program efficacy

  • Collaborate with external data partners on quantitative analysis of key reports

  • Perform a wide range of data analysis tasks and ensure accuracy of all materials, including at times managing research assistant(s) supporting key projects

  • Ensure that the work produced by the original research team meets a high bar and is consistently intersectional in its approach and outcomes

What You Will Bring

  • Minimum 8 years of applied quantitative social science research experience, managing large and complex datasets

  • Strong ability to distill research findings for consumer audiences

  • Skill in diverse data tasks, from advanced analysis to simple data retrieval

  • Familiarity with survey design, data visualization, and program evaluation principles

  • Comfortability discussing research and data analysis at an expert level with technical and non-technical audiences

  • Ability to drive toward more intersectional and inclusive approaches in work products and outcomes

  • Proficiency in statistical programming (e.g., R, Python), Tableau, and Excel or Google Sheets

  • Bonus points for experience in gender/diversity research, interactive data visualization, and mixed-methods research

  • Enthusiasm for people management is a plus, though not required.

  • Commitment to being a strong advocate for equity, inclusion, and uplifting traditionally marginalized voices

  • Passion for missions of Lean In, Option B, and the Dave Goldberg Scholarship Program

What We Will Offer You

  • The base salary range for this role varies depending on a candidate’s location which is categorized into one of two bands. National Band: $126-$144K and Bay Area/New York Metro Band: $140-$160K.

  • The actual base salary within the applicable market range may also vary depending on the candidate's qualifications, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base salary, full-time employees are also eligible for a performance-based bonus of up to 10% of their annual salary

  • A comprehensive benefits plan including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) with a 4% percent employer match, basic life/AD&D insurance, basic short-term disability insurance, and more!

  • Unlimited paid time off, 11 paid holidays/year, and 2 weeks of paid office closures (Thanksgiving week and Winter Break)

  • A team that lives our five guiding values: People First, Make It Count, Own It, Always Growing, and More Voices

Important Information

  • We may uplevel the position to the Director level for a very qualified candidate.

  • This is a full-time, exempt position.

  • While we are a remote-first organization and work schedules are flexible, team-wide meetings are often held between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm Pacific Time.

  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with flexibility for non-standard hours.

  • Occasional travel is required to attend organization-wide offsites and events.

  • The selected individual must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

  • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so we encourage early submission.
