About the role
We seek a Senior IT Specialist (Contract) to support the Director of Compliance and Security with various IT projects and ongoing tasks. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys influencing the setup and configuration of systems. This role is perfect for you if you are self-driven and prefer to work independently with little oversight. You will receive guidance from and collaborate closely with the Director of Compliance and Security, effectively partnering with them to manage many essential IT responsibilities for our expanding company.
About your team
The team today is small but mighty. You will partner with our Director of Compliance and Security to deliver a great experience to Workera’s employees and contractors.
What You’ll Do:
We need someone with experience that will allow them to hit the ground running and make an immediate impact in the information technology space. We seek prior experience with our tools and continuous improvement of those functions.
Within 3 months, you will:
Collaborate closely with the Director of Compliance and Security to streamline IT department operations.
Engage directly with employees and contractors to resolve queries and enhance service availability across extended hours.
Under the director's guidance, take a leading role in deploying an updated access request and management program.
You'll manage the program’s daily operations with autonomy tailored to your prior experience in similar roles.
Work alongside the Director to critically assess and enhance our Data Loss Protection (DLP) strategies and systems.
Be responsible for crafting and presenting a proposal that strengthens our DLP measures with minimal operational disruption.
Within 6 months, you will:
Partner with the Director of Compliance and Security to manage endpoint devices for employees and contractors, including deployment, retrieval, mobile device management (MDM), security enhancements, and patching.
Address end-user queries effectively across a global user base spanning 19 countries, requiring adaptable working hours.
Support the Director in spearheading a project to optimize our authentication configurations across all SaaS business tools.
Collaborate with the Director to evaluate our current Mobile Device Management (MDM) practices and devise a strategic proposal to address shortcomings.

What You’ll Bring
3+ years working with macOS, Windows and Linux operating systems and supporting end users with questions about operating system options and configurations.
3+ years working with Google Workspace—You should have experience with day-to-day administrative functions within Google Workspace, explicitly working with OUs, DLP rules, application authentication setup, audit report querying, and more.
2+ years working with Sentinel One - You should have experience with day-to-day administrative functions with Sentinel One or similar antivirus endpoint protection products.
Detail-oriented. Our work usually aligns with compliance or security requirements, so we must ensure all functions are working as expected.
Fast learner. You should be able to research and quickly learn about new items with similar flavors to what you may know well.
Prior experience with similar-sized startups and fast-paced environments.
IT Asset Management Tools - You should have experience with day-to-day administration functions and endpoint asset inventory tools, which include mobile device management, patching, and software deployment functions.
Compliance Tracking Tools - You should have experience using compliance tracking tools like Vanta or Drata to monitor, address, and track evidence for compliance tasks to IT.
Proficiency in utilizing AI tools such as ChatGPT or equivalent digital assistants, applying them effectively within your work context.
Note on Hours: While we anticipate that this role will initially require approximately 20 hours per week, please be aware that the workload may fluctuate based on project demands. During periods of decreased workload, hours may be adjusted accordingly, and you will be compensated based on actual hours worked.
