Team


Our Gaming team is made up of hybrid-casual, casual, and mid-core experts. Our 'Core' games team supports internal and external studios worldwide in creating, developing, and launching new hit games, whilst our 'Live' games team focuses on delivering higher engagement on our existing and successful games.

Joining our Live games team means collaborating with gaming industry experts on globally renowned, enduring games while embracing exciting new entrepreneurial ventures. With over seven billion downloads worldwide and a portfolio of more than 10 resilient hybrid games generating more than $20m per year, we are the world's largest and most successful hybrid publisher.

As part of our product strategy, we are excited to expand beyond the hypercasual and hybridcasual markets into the casual Match-3 space. Our mission is to release the next $1B Match 3 game, pioneering the next generation in this category.


Role


We are seeking an experienced Economy Designer to join our team. In this key role, you’ll design and optimize the in-game economy, balancing fun, player engagement, and monetization. You’ll shape the game’s progression, resource management, and reward systems to keep players motivated and ensure long-term sustainability.


As an Economy Designer, you’ll work closely with game design, product management, data analytics, and live ops teams to create scalable economic models that align with short- and long-term goals. Your expertise in behavioral economics and player psychology will help create a balanced free-to-play economy with ethical monetization.



  • Design and Optimize Game Economy: Develop a balanced system for progression, engagement, and monetization.
  • Monetization Strategy: Create and optimize strategies for in-app purchases, gacha, subscriptions, and ads.
  • Player Progression & Rewards: Manage resource flows, currency, and reward structures.
  • Data-Driven Adjustments: Use analytics to refine the economy, adjusting based on player behavior.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work with design, product, and data teams to align economy with business goals.
  • Event Design & Live Ops: Develop in-game events and seasonal content to boost engagement and revenue.
  • Predictive Modeling: Create economy models to predict the impact of new content and live ops.


Profile
  • 5+ years of experience in economy design or game design, ideally in free-to-play (F2P) casual games.
  • Proven track record of designing and optimizing successful in-game economies that balance progression, monetization, and player retention.
  • Strong understanding of virtual currencies, resource management, and player progression systems in mobile or social games.
  • Proficiency in using tools like Excel, Google Sheets, and economy modeling software for creating and balancing economic systems.
  • Expertise in data-driven design, with the ability to analyze player behavior and adjust the economy based on performance metrics.
  • Experience working closely with cross-functional teams (game design, product, analytics) to align economy design with broader business objectives.
  • Strong communication skills, able to articulate economy design decisions and their impact to stakeholders across the company.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry trends, successful game economies, and emerging monetization models in free-to-play games.
