Senior Equity & Payroll Administration Specialist

Position Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented, adaptable, and analytical Senior Equity & Payroll Administration Specialist to join our fast-paced Controllership team, reporting to the Senior Manager, Global Payroll.
This is a unique dual-focus role that is central to our company's long-term scalable growth. The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert in private company equity administration (Carta experience is strongly preferred) who also possesses strong global payroll expertise (Workday experience preferred).
You will be the primary owner of our equity plan administration, ensuring accuracy and providing exceptional support to our plan participants. Concurrently, you will be a key partner in our global payroll operations, specifically supporting the team with our strategic roadmap to implement Workday Payroll globally.
What your impact will be:
Your key responsibilities will be split across two core areas and include:
Equity Administration Duties
Plan Administration: Manage all aspects of our equity plan in Carta, including processing quarterly grants (new hires, promotions, top talent), option exercises, terminations, and repurchases.
Reconciliation & Reporting: Own equity related accounting close activities, generate recurring and ad-hoc reports from Carta as needed for equity compensation, and financial modelling and reporting.
Participant Support: Serve as the first point of contact for all participant inquiries, developing educational resources and communications to enhance understanding of our Plan.
Vesting & Data Integrity: Ensure accurate tracking and processing of vesting schedules. Own the data integrity of our equity platform, performing regular reconciliations between Carta, Workday, and legal documents.
Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner with Legal, People, and FP&A to manage the grant approval process, provide data for 409A valuations, and support reporting for audits and potential transactions.
Compliance: Ensure all transactions are compliant with plan documents and 409A regulations.
Global Payroll Duties
Workday Implementation Support: Act as a key resource for the payroll team in the planned FY26 implementation and stabilization of Workday-native payrolls.
Global Payroll Processing: Support end-to-end global payroll processing, working with our internal team and external providers to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Reconciliation & Reporting: Support payroll accounting close activities, including the preparation of accruals, account reconciliations, and journal entries to ensure all financial records are accurate.
Compliance & Tax: Help ensure compliance with all international, federal, state, and local regulations. Assist with the review of tax reporting and resolution of any issues.
Process Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, leverage Workday automation, and improve the stakeholder experience.
What you will bring:
7+ years of progressive, combined experience in equity administration and global payroll.
Deep expertise in public or private company equity administration is required.
Hands-on experience with the Carta platform is strongly preferred.
Workday Payroll experience is strongly preferred.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts (both equity and payroll) to employees at all levels.
Proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced, remote environment.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related discipline, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
Certified Equity Professional (CEP) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus.
