About the Role
As a Senior BI Engineer at JustAnswer, you’ll take on a pivotal role in building and optimizing our Business Intelligence (BI) infrastructure, enabling the generation of data-driven insights crucial for business decisions. You’ll leverage your advanced SQL and ETL expertise, design efficient data models, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to create impactful BI solutions. This role is ideal for a BI expert with deep technical skills, a strong analytical mindset, and a passion for working on complex data projects that support strategic business initiatives.
What You’ll Do
Design and implement optimized database structures, leveraging expert SQL skills to enable fast, efficient data querying and analysis.
Develop and maintain ETL processes to ensure smooth data integration from multiple sources and support business reporting.
Build and enhance BI reporting applications, using a leading BI dashboarding platform like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
Use functional and object-oriented programming languages to support data processing, automation, and complex data transformations.
Execute the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for BI solutions, ensuring high quality, scalability, and data integrity.
Work collaboratively with analysts, engineers, architects, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Follow Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) for efficient project execution and continuous improvement.
Write, conduct, and maintain automated tests to ensure data quality and system reliability.
Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize BI solutions to maintain performance and usability.
Document and maintain data catalogs, best practices, and technical documentation for the BI team.
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence engineering, data engineering, or a related field.
Proven expertise in SQL with the ability to design efficient and complex queries.
Strong background in data analysis and a demonstrated ability to derive insights from complex datasets.
Extensive experience building ETLs to integrate and manage data from diverse sources.
Proficiency with BI dashboarding platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker) to develop and manage visual reports.
Experience with functional and object-oriented programming languages like Python, .NET (C#), or JavaScript.
Strong problem-solving skills for complex data challenges and a creative approach to data solutions.
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
