This role will be fully remote through August 2025 with the expectation that employees will begin working 2 days per week in our dedicated office space in San Francisco starting September 2025. 

 

About the Role

The Marketplace team is responsible for all levers that power and drive Dolly’s business with the overarching objective of matching supply and demand at the right price. Living at the intersection between Dolly’s core software products/engineering and business functions, the heart of the Marketplace team is Dolly’s data. As Senior Analytics Engineer you will own Dolly’s enterprise data models and data access layer as products including transformations, orchestration, quality assurance, and aggregation - everything from initial refinements post-load through business-ready data.

This role reports to the Director of Marketplace Analytics.

 

What You'll Work On:

  • Design and develop data ontologies for Dolly’s core business objects, represented as our enterprise data model.

  • Develop performant, scalable code for Dolly’s production data transformation layer.

  • Design and develop efficient orchestrations between interdependent transformation.

  • Implement transformation pipelines for raw data considering quality, detection/enforcement, and periodicity.

  • Own data definitions for Dolly’s key business metrics.

  • Work with executives, department heads and other stakeholders across the business to ensure data definitions align with business needs.

 

Your Areas Of Expertise:

  • Expertise in Snowflake SQL, and dbt Cloud CLI (5 years)

  • Expertise in dimensional modeling and SCD2 use cases (3 years)

  • Expertise in at least one programming language used for data analysis (eg Python, R) (3 years)

  • Experience designing and implementing data quality assurance and monitoring processes (2 years)

  • Experience interacting with executive and senior management stakeholders around the topics of data access, quality, appropriate use, metric definitions and standardization (2 years)

  • Familiarity with git (2 years)

  • Commitment to data process development with a relentless focus on transparency, quality, efficiency and resilience

 

Compensation & Benefits:

The base pay range for this position is $115,000 - $160,000 This range is representative of base pay only, and does not include any other total cash compensation amounts, such as company bonus or benefits. Final offer amounts may vary from the amounts listed above, and will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, geography, and level.
