The Role
We’re seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to join the Edge Services Development team, working on the platform that powers the Megaport Cloud Router and Megaport Virtual Edge products. This is a remote position based in North America, working with our distributed team across Australia and North America. You’ll be instrumental in scaling our global infrastructure and enabling our engineering teams to deliver innovative products to our customers worldwide.
What you’ll be doing
Deploy and manage services on our global fleet of Kubernetes clusters, supporting both internal infrastructure and external products
Troubleshooting and resolution of complex Kubernetes issues in both our lab and production environments, ensuring high availability and performance
Mentor and develop team members by sharing your Kubernetes expertise and elevating the team’s technical capabilities
Enhance automation infrastructure infrastructure by building and improving systems for new node and cluster onboarding
Strengthen security posture by continually improving access logging, monitoring, and implementing security best practices
Collaborate cross-functionally with our global engineering teams to understand requirements and develop solutions
What we are looking for
Deep expertise in Kubernetes, including architecture, networking, storage, and operational best practices
Strong proficiency in Terraform and infrastructure as code principles
Advanced Linux systems experience, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, and security hardening
Problem solving mindset with the ability to debug complex distributed systems issues
Excellent communication skills and a passion for mentoring and knowledge sharing
3+ years of experience working with container orchestration platforms in a production environmentBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
