Location
Anywhere in the Contiguous United States but there's a preference for candidates in the East Coast, as the job involved visiting clients in that part of the country.
The role
Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced OT LAN Technical Architect to join their dynamic team and help them maintain and enhance their technological infrastructure.
The OT LAN Technical Architect is responsible for providing operational technology leadership and establishing best practices in designing and implementing OT LAN solutions. This role involves acting as a solutions and architecture consultant, developing robust, scalable, and secure OT LAN topologies and architectures, including WLAN, specifically tailored for industrial environments. The architect will lead hardware and software refreshes for OT LAN environments and ensure seamless integration within the co-management framework with factory settings. The architect will provide expert advice and recommendations to optimize network performance and align with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Technology Leadership:
Serve as a subject matter expert and thought leader in operational technology (OT) network architecture and design.
Establish and promote best practices in OT LAN design and implementation, ensuring solutions are innovative, efficient, and aligned with industry standards.
Design and Architecture:
Develop and implement OT LAN standard topologies and architectures, incorporating both LAN and WLAN components tailored for industrial settings.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align network architecture with business objectives and operational requirements in industrial environments.
Ensure architecture designs meet industry standards, regulatory compliance, and specific industrial environment needs.
Solutions and Architecture Consulting:
Provide expert consulting to internal and external stakeholders on network architecture, design, and best practices.
Conduct assessments and audits of existing network infrastructure in industrial settings, identifying areas for enhancement and optimization.
OT LAN Refresh:
Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of hardware and software upgrades for the OT LAN environment, ensuring compatibility and performance in industrial settings.
Manage the lifecycle of network infrastructure, ensuring timely refreshes and upgrades to maintain performance, security, and reliability in industrial operations.
Co-Management Framework:
Integrate OT LAN within the co-management framework with factory operations, facilitating seamless communication and management.
Develop policies and procedures to support co-managed environments, ensuring compliance and efficiency within industrial settings.
Architecting OT LAN Solutions:
Leverage expertise in either Cisco technologies or providers like providers like Siemens, Belden, Rockwell, or Hirshman, to design, implement, and optimize network solutions for industrial environments.
Stay current with advancements in the area and incorporate relevant updates into network strategies for industrial applications.
Documentation and Training:
Develop comprehensive documentation of network architecture, configurations, and procedures specific to industrial environments.
Provide training and mentorship to IT staff on best practices and emerging technologies related to OT LAN in industrial settings.
