JOB TITLE: Lead Business Intelligence Analyst LOCATION: REMOTE
THE ROLE: We are looking for a detail-oriented Business Intelligence Lead to work with our Finance, Data, Product, and Marketing teams to support the strategic growth of Splice. This is a highly visible and impactful functional leadership role with direct and regular communication to our C-suite. This role requires someone who is highly curious, self-directed, and motivated to independently uncover insights that can improve our business. The ideal candidate will be a proven leader with experience influencing company-level strategy by communicating business metrics and results in a concise and digestible manner for senior stakeholders. As our first Business Intelligence Lead, you will be empowered with a broad charter and asked to draw on your experience to define best practices for this function at Splice.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
You will function as a key collaborator with colleagues in Product, Marketing, Finance, and Data, helping them choose, understand, and track the business metrics that align with their goals.
You will collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and department leaders to identify and build business critical data sources, devise data-quality checks, and build both ad hoc and automatic reports.
You will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and improving existing analytics dashboards to meet our quality standards.
You will develop clear and impactful analyses that identify opportunities to improve overall business performance and size key growth opportunities.
You will present and communicate data-backed recommendations to leadership and cross-functional partners.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Strong experience with analytical SQL (ideally BigQuery, Snowflake, AWS Athena, or similar).
Hands-on experience with self-service product-analytics tools (e.g., Looker, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Heap).
Comfortable using a programming language for data analysis (such as Python or R) when appropriate.
Ability to both define and write logic that transforms raw data into useful, interpretable, business logic-driven datasets.
Motivated to independently define BI processes, write documentation, and disseminate best practices.
Strong experience in data visualization techniques using the above tools.
5+ years of experience in roles requiring data organization and analytical rigor (e.g. Analytics, Business Operations, Consulting, Finance, etc.), with at least 2+ years in a senior or functional leadership role.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of standard SaaS business metrics and models.
Passion for uncovering levers and insights that can help grow a business through financial analysis.
There are no specific degree requirements for this role: we appreciate and seek out diverse backgrounds. Instead of any particular formal education or years-of-experience requirements, we’ll flesh out what you’ve built, what you know, and how you approach problem solving.
As a company that serves musicians and producers, some knowledge of the music-production process is an asset. If this topic is new to you that’s okay, you should be open to learning about it.
The national pay range for this role is $150,000 - $175,000. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience.
