We are recruiting for a Junior Data Scientist to work in support of a defense program. This position requires related education and 2+ years of experience supporting a data analysis/data science environment. Qualified candidates will have hands-on experience with programming, statistical modeling, data visualization, or similar experience.

Location Note: This position offers a telework option from a remote home office located within contigous U.S.
Security Clearance: A current security clearance is required (secret at a minimum)

Role and responsibilities include:

• Provide research and analysis
• Support data mining and statistical analysis
• Provide processing, cleansing, and verifying data integrity for analysis
• Provide ad-hoc analysis and report generation

Requirements include:

• US Citizenship
• Current security clearance
• 2-5 years of related experience supporting data science/data analysis/data visualization activities preferably in a DoD environment
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, or related discipline
• Experience with programming and statistical model building in one or more languages such as R, Python, Java, Scala
• Data engineering experience with SQL programming, NoSQL (Neo4J)
• Hands-on experience with data cleansing, data munging, metric development, and descriptive analytics
• Hands on data modeling experience such as hyperparameter tuning, statistics, economics, predictive modeling, and prescriptive modeling
• Data visualization dashboard development experience is a plus (Tableau, Qlik, RShiny, Python Bokeh, PowerBI)
• Experience with descriptive analytics and low coding platforms (Mendix, Appian, PowerApps) is a plus
• Effective communication skills to succeed in a blended government and contractor environment
