Job Summary
We are currently looking for a hands-on Senior Software Engineer - (Image Hardening) with expertise in building and maintaining secured EDB container images to join our Cloud Native Engineering team. This role is a contract position for 12 months.
As a member of the Cloud Native team, you’ll work on designing and building secure EDB container images that pass stringent security scans and can be deployed into any Kubernetes environment.
Candidate's Note: This is a contract position for 12 months. 100% remote position with location targeting United States only.
What your impact will be:
Work closely with EDB’s partner Chainguard to understand how to efficiently integrate with their ecosystem.
Design, implement, and maintain EDB container images that are built on top of sanitized based images provided by Chainguard.
Ensure secured EDB container images are tested and working on both Openshift and vanilla Kubernetes platforms.
Ensure secured EDB container images pass mandated security scans and work with the EDB security team to triage and resolve any issues.
What you will bring:
Experience with programming languages like Python, Golang and Shell.
Experience with building commercial level container images.
Experience with packaging software to be distributed via different Linux packaging managers such as APK, APT and RPM.
Experience with security scanning tools such as Blackduck.
Experience with implementing process automation.
Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed international team=
Strong problem-solving skills.
Calm and methodical approach with good communication skills
Understands and willing to follow whole modern software development life cycle processes
What will give you an edge:
Experience with the security scanning and remediation processes.
Experience with Chainguard
Experience with PostgreSQL
In-depth knowledge of Unix systems and networking technologies
In-depth knowledge of virtualization technologies
