Within the Fabric organization, the Emulation team develops and delivers virtual hardware solutions to Embedded Software teams across all of Boeing reducing the reliance on physical hardware. This job indirectly supports several high visibility Boeing programs across Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS), Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), and Boeing Global Services (BGS) and is a good opportunity to have exposure to many different teams across Boeing.

In this role, you will be assistingour DevOps Software Engineering Lead to manage development and deployment pipelines as well as our container configurations to enable seamless packaging and deployments of emulations. You will assist with configuring various AWS services to host our GitLab pipelines and support updates required to maintain compliance to Boeing’s Standards. Your contributions would include continuously improving the stability, efficiency, and performance of CI/CD pipelines; interfacing with our Emulation Software Engineers to root cause Build/Deploy/Test errors in our pipelines; and helping develop, maintain, and administer automationsto gather and display data on our pipeline health and performance as well as other Software metrics.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter, enjoys working collaboratively with others, and has a commitment to customer satisfaction and process improvement. This position will support the development of solutions to a wide range of complex problems that require ingenuity and innovation. The candidate should be adaptable to new development environments and eager to work with and learn new technologies.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assists to automate, develop, monitor, improve and troubleshoot across software engineering development, tooling, testing, integration, deployment, configuration processes, and security controls.

  • Assists to implement current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and regulations in the software engineering DevOps environment.

  • Assists to implement an environment that enables high levels of quality, safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across the organization.

  • Provides data to support collaboration with cross functional teams to build and maintain robust, scalable, and secure software engineering systems.

  • Gathers information to develop, document and maintain standardized, efficient processes, tools, methodologies, and performance metrics to streamline the software engineering lifecycle and enable continuous integration, delivery, and deployment of safety critical software.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience with Linux systems, including command-line tools, compiling code, and basic scripting 

  • 1+ experience with C/C++, Python, or C# 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience Building pipelines, using a tool such as GitLab

  • Ability to build, integrate and troubleshoot software components.

  • Experience in Windows, Linux and real-time operating systems.

  • Knowledge of host environments, including processors, operating systems and networks.

  • Knowledge of containerization technologies which includes understanding how to manage containers, deploy applications in a containerized environment, and troubleshoot issues.

  • Experience in Cloud technologiesand knowledge of cloud resourcing and architecture (computing, storage, networking, etc.)

  • Ability to design and develop automation of software tests, execute automated tests, track results, manage test data, and utilize results to improve software quality.

  • Knowledge of understanding of networking concepts, including IP addressing, subnetting, routing, and security.

  • Ability to understand the big picture and the inter-relationships of all positions and activities in the system, including the impact of changes in one area on another area. This includes the ability to see and understand the inter-relationships between components of systems and plans, anticipate future events, and apply the principles of systems thinking to accelerate performance.
