Job Summary
The Tester will be responsible for planning, designing, executing and compiling the results for various tests for Finance Data Repository (FDR). The position will involve working closely with Architects, delivery lead and data engineers on a day-to-day basis.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Role and Responsibilities
Define scope, execution plans, and coordinate test activitiesCreate test cases/test data and perform Test executionValidate data sources, extracting data applications of transformation logicWork closely with the business users and assist them with UAT Ensure all sign-offs on deliverables (overall test strategy, test plan, test cases, ) and that testing meets governance requirementsIdentify test approaches, coverage, requirement gaps and risks and propose risk remediationWork closely with enterprise Testing team to ensure full alignment in terms of approach, solution, tools & technologies, etc.Review Data Models, Data Mappings, Architectural Documentation to create/execute effective Test Plans and test casesDefine test cases to validate Functional and Technical data quality rulesAnalyse and troubleshoot erroneous results, determines the root cause of defects, logs the defects in JIRA and enables defect management, including working with the development team on the resolution of Software related defectsWork closely with the software development team (Data Engineer, Business Analysts, Developers & other testers) to ensure timely and effective testing effort
Requirements
5+ experience as Data tester or ETL TesterStrong experience in of the following technologies preferred -SQL, PYTHON, Pyspark, JavaScript, JavaExperience with testing tools like Tosca/Python DataCompy tool. (Or similar)Expert in implementing QA/Testing LifecycleExpertise in DB-related testing, ETL testing, reporting and BI toolsAbility to write basic SQLs to check record counts, data truncation, invalid data types, NULLs and data integrity, data transformation, aggregate functions testingExperience in transforming complex Business logic into SQL queriesMust be able to identify and document testing issues and quality risks, participate in defect remediationExperience in following Agile Testing practices and guidelines, including Defect ManagementKnowledge of Database objects and relational data modelUnderstanding of information governance principles and how they could apply in a testing capacityUnderstanding of ETL requirements (source-to-target mappings)Testing experience with different file typesExperience with Azure databricks
