Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

At Stripe, we’re constantly working on ways to optimize our benefits programs and improve the experience for our users. We are looking for a leader for our Americas Benefits team to design and enhance Stripe’s future benefits programs in the US, CAN, LATAM and beyond. In this role, you’ll drive the development of the benefits strategy to scale and support fast paced growth, deliver creative and flexible programs, while also developing and leading a best in class team.  Your work will be instrumental to Stripe achieving its mission by supporting every Stripe to take care of themselves and their family, and to do their best work.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the execution of the benefits and time off strategy including future plan designs and offerings

  • Identify gaps in the current offerings and design the programs and projects to remedy these findings

  • Lead the annual benefits benchmarking, renewal cycles and contract negotiations to ensure competitive and compelling benefits offerings

  • Select and manage vendors, carriers and brokers

  • Create employee benefits communications & enablement materials including content and delivery strategy

  • Drive and implement enhancements to our benefits tools, technologies & communication vehicles to support the user experience and allow for scalability

  • Leverage data, insights, and craft to inform design and decisions on strategy and programs

  • Develop productive, collaborative cross-functional relationships with Total Rewards team members and the broader People, Systems, Payroll, Finance, Legal and Tax teams

Who you are

We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in an employee benefits role in a US/multi country (preferably US, CAN & LATAM), including various insurance, retirement, time off and leave programs

  • 3+ years of leadership and managerial experience of benefits teams at scaling companies

  • Strong organizational and operational skills, and ability to manage and execute on multiple concurrent projects/competing priorities

  • Passion for leading and developing teams and building and nurturing trusting relationships both internally and externally

  • Ability to influence across various levels within the organization as well as vendors, brokers and carriers

  • Experience working collaboratively across functional, technical, and operational teams to design and build holistic solutions to challenging problems

  • Demonstrated success in bringing projects and programs to market

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to model cost impacts of current and future programs

  • Workday benefits module experience

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience establishing and building new benefits programs related to new country expansions

  • A creative thinker who can focus on new ways to make things work more efficiently and at scale

  • A strategic thinker whose decisions are informed by data, experience, and Stripe’s operating principles
