About Aleph

Aleph is redefining the world of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A). We operate in an established software category with a multi-billion TAM but no clear winner. We’re here to change that, and our early results are self-explanatory.

Aleph was founded by Albert Gozzi and Santiago Perez De Rosso, two technical founders with backgrounds from Stanford and MIT and experience working at top-tier companies such as Google, Microsoft, and Bain & Company. We’re backed by top VCs (Bain Capital Ventures, Khosla Ventures, YC, Picus Capital), and work with customers like Turo, Notion, Zapier, and others.

What we’ve built so far is the most seamless way to centralize all of a company's financial data – think expenses from Quickbooks or Netsuite, pipeline forecasts from Salesforce – and bring it into the tools finance teams are already using. But the vision goes way beyond that. We’re building the source of truth for a business’ data, and ultimately the platform businesses use to make better decisions.

We’re way ahead of schedule due to our unique approach, with barely any churn and rapid growth despite no marketing spend to date.

We are hiring remotely across the Americas (Canada, LATAM, United States).

🔍 What we're looking for

We are looking for an Analytics Engineer to join our team. We need someone who can not only manage, but innovate and enhance our data transformation processes. You will be at the forefront of integrating diverse data sources like accounting platforms or HR tools, refining our data models, and ensuring data integrity and performance at the highest level.

This role is not just about technical prowess but also about understanding and fulfilling our customers' unique FP&A needs. You will work closely with our customers to identify their requirements, troubleshoot data issues, and collaborate with the engineering team to design robust data integrity tests.

👷 What you'll be doing

Core data transformations

  • Build and continuously enhance data transformations for new and existing data sources

  • Improve performance of data models and transformations

  • Design tests in collaboration with other teams to ensure data integrity

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of data models, ETL processes, and reporting frameworks for future reference.

Customer specific needs

  • Directly engage with the Customer Success team to understand their data transformation needs

  • Troubleshoot and refine customer-specific data transformations

  • Review the status of data integrations, assisting the customer success team

📝 What you have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.

  • 1-2 years of experience in analytics or a similar role, preferably within a SaaS or finance environment.

  • Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and analysis.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets.

  • Proficient communication skills.

Bonus points

  • Exposure to and interest in Finance, particularly in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R.

  • You like working with Excel/Google Sheets.

🤠 Who you are

  • You have an ownership mentality and are excited to take on responsibility

  • You thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic, even chaotic, environment

  • You excel at building personal connections and fostering collaboration

  • You are comfortable working in a remote team

While this is a remote-first opportunity, we're focusing on candidates within the Americas to better align with our working hours as a team.
