Accountant/ Senior Accountant

We’re seeking a highly motivated individuals with strong accounting experience to support daily accounting operations, month-end close, and revenue recognition. Successful candidates have strong financial accounting and analytical skills with exceptional organizational and communication skills and want to learn and grow.
Key Responsibilities
Support the month-end and year-end close processes across multiple operating entities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and strict adherence to close & reporting deadlines.
Prepare and record revenue entries in accordance with company procedures, ASC 606, and GAAP.
Coordinate with school districts, attorneys, and other third parties to manage collections, resolve disputes, and ensure timely receipt of payments.
Partner with internal & external stakeholders to monitor receivable balances, escalate issues as needed, and facilitate resolution of delinquent accounts.
Perform and review bank and cash reconciliations, ensuring timely identification and resolution of discrepancies.
Manage daily cash application activities, including analysis and resolution of variances related to complex payment structures.
Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all accounts are properly supported and reconciling items are cleared timely.
Assist in the preparation and review of ad-hoc, monthly, and quarterly financial statements for internal stakeholders.
Support new school year operational needs such asonboarding, payment plan setup, contract confirmation, and accounting booking.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or finance required
3-5 years of progressive accounting experience; preferably with exposure to multi-entity or multi-location environments.
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, including revenue recognition, accruals, and account reconciliation.
Proficient understanding of cash-basis accounting and reporting.
Demonstrated experience supporting month-end close & financial reporting processes in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs.
Effective communication skills, with the ability and willingness to collaborate cross-functionally with external parties & stakeholders.
Proficient experience with ERP systems like NetSuite is preferred.
Advanced Excel skills are preferred.
