Glitch Productions is an independent animation studio based in Australia making original, long form animated shows distributed on Youtube. Our channel has over 18 million subscribers, tens of millions of views per episode and is still growing strong. Our studio is filled with incredibly talented and passionate artists that are determined to change the way animation is produced and treated in the industry. Our biggest IP; Digital Circus, has amassed over 350 million views on the pilot alone and we have a lot more still to come.
Role Information:
Glitch Productions is looking for a highly creative, artistic and dedicated Freelance 3D Asset Artist (Props & Environments) who can create high-quality, stylised 3D assets for our animated productions. In this role, you'll model a wide range of props, set pieces and environment assets from concept art, helping expand the horizons of animated series. We have a wide variety of artstyles and aesthetics in our shows, offering our team a chance to expand their skills and experiment all the time.
Your duties will include:
Create high-quality 3D props and environment assets from concept art.
Model assets using Maya or Blender.
Ability to modify modelling efficiency based on graded complexity and shot importance.
Produce clean, production-ready topology and UV for rigging and unreal artists.
Create textures using Substance Painter where required.
Prepare assets for Unreal Engine integration.
Revise assets based on creative and technical feedback.
Deliver files that meet production and pipeline standards.
A successful candidate will have:
Have an excellent eye for high quality 3D artwork.
Ability to prioritize complexity, detail, and efficiency based on Lead callouts.
Proficient in Maya,blender, Unreal, Substance Painter, zbrush or other 3D software.
Ability to model and texture complex but stylized high-rez & low rez props, and background items to occasionally support the environment team .
Ability to model hard surface items and small environments, as well as vehicles.
Ability to create textures for use with various shaders (specular maps, normal maps, etc.)
Good sense of how 3d form perceptively changes based on lighting, materials, and scale.
Have strong time management skills and be able to reliably work independently.
Ability to work as a team player with designers, directors and producers.
Able to take direction, work toward very specific objectives with minimal supervision and iterate quickly.
Bonus Skills:
Experience with Unreal Engine 5 .
Skill in one or more related disciplines – illustration, animation, visual effects, or technical art.
UE Blueprinting knowledge
Look development skills
Groom and game friendly Hair creation experience.
