About Anzen:

The $100 billion U.S. specialty insurance market encompasses many of the most challenging and complex insurance risks. Most of this market is still quoted and transacted via email, spreadsheets, phone calls, and PDFs.

Retail insurance brokers across the U.S. rely on market making brokers-what the industry calls the wholesale market-to place much of this specialty insurance. Anzen is quickly becoming one of the preferred wholesale solutions for connecting retail brokers to underwriters using the latest technology. Anzen has built the only comprehensive data set to train AI to streamline market making for corporate risks of all sizes and types.

Anzen is a team of technology and insurance professionals with years of experience building enterprise software, insurtech, underwriting, and insurance distribution businesses. We partner with leading insurance carriers and retail brokers to deliver best-in-class specialty insurance solutions to SMB, mid-market, and public companies.

About the Role:

Anzen is seeking a skilled Operations Analyst to oversee the insurance operations, reporting directly to the VP of Insurance Operations. The role involves collaboration with various cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, technology, finance, and others.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive operational excellence by managing workflows and implementations to enhance the end-to-end customer/broker experience.

  • Build and manage BPO function to support various operational aspects during hyper-growth. This includes sales, general services, renewals, audits, claims, etc.

  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams on feature development and improvements to drive more efficiency as we scale.

  • Function as a HubSpot developer for cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy.

  • Be the contact for any accounting or payment policy-related questions between our finance/accounting team and our agency partners.

  • Collaborate with third-party vendors to ensure compliance with local states' requirements when transacting on a non-admitted basis.

  • Manage external agencies' licenses and E&O coverage through third-party vendors.

  • Oversee internal entity licenses and employee licenses through third-party vendors for insurance transactions in all 50 states.

  • Develop an internal tool for auditing the book of business to ensure file completion and uphold underwriting disciplines.

  • Own monthly reporting and uploads to local states' databases.

  • Other ongoing business operations support as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate a bias for action, demand for results, and outcomes.

  • Possesses skills in managing stakeholders to work collaboratively towards common outcomes/results.

  • Insurance experience is advantageous but not mandatory; preference is for excellent operators with a track record of driving progress.

  • Exhibit a keen eye for operational excellence, preferably with experience in startup environments.

  • Proficient in modern management systems; experience with Salesforce or HubSpot is preferred.

  • Strong analytical capabilities, with the ability to work with large datasets to identify and resolve problems.

  • Experience in building and shipping products, with the ability to prioritize technology systems.

  • Ruthless prioritization skills to navigate through a multitude of problems and opportunities.

  • Ability to contribute to company strategy while operating granularly to develop a comprehensive understanding of the system.
