WordPress Developer
xfive is on the lookout for a talented WordPress Developer to join our crew (on a freelance basis).
About the Role
We’re searching for a mid–senior WordPress Developer who’s ready for more than just coding. In this freelance role, you’ll collaborate directly with clients, share ideas, run audits, and help make websites faster, smoother, and better. If you enjoy problem-solving, crafting clean solutions, and building great working relationships, you’ll feel right at home with us.
What You Can Expect
We like to keep things professional, but easygoing and we want you to thrive. Here’s what makes working with us enjoyable:
Freelance freedom: Work with us on a contract basis and earn 25–35 USD per hour, depending on your experience.
Plenty of growth room: We’ll back you as you explore new tools, sharpen your skills, and level up.
Real impact: Your ideas matter. You’ll help shape the direction of projects, and sometimes the company, too.
A variety of projects: From startups to agencies to established companies across the US, UK, and Australia.
Your workspace, your choice: Home, café, coworking space, or our Kraków office (yes, there’s parking!).
Flexible hours: Work when you work best, as long as there’s some overlap with our team and clients.
Full transparency: We openly share company decisions, direction, and health, so you’re always in the loop.
Supportive crew: We help each other out, whether it’s untangling tricky code or brainstorming solutions.
Good vibes only: You’ll be surrounded by open-minded, collaborative people who keep things fun but focused.
Strong ability to deliver high-quality work on time and work independently.
At least 5 years of hands-on WordPress development experience.
Solid English communication skills (B2+), including direct client communication.
Availability of at least 30 hours/week.
Strong programming fundamentals (DRY, KISS, abstraction, optimization, security, etc.).
Deep knowledge of WordPress, Codex, and building themes/plugins from scratch.
Excellent understanding of customization, Gutenberg, ACF, and WooCommerce.
Experience with React/Next.js and Headless WordPress is a plus.
Great grasp of PHP, OOP, and ideally frameworks like Symfony or Laravel.
Strong modern front-end skills: HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, accessibility, performance optimization.
SCSS knowledge; Tailwind or Bootstrap experience is a bonus.
Experience with animations (CSS/JS) is nice to have.
Git proficiency and comfort with command-line tools.
Sharp eye for detail and clean, reusable code.
Ability to debug complex issues and propose effective solutions.
