We give hospitals a platform to run their care delivery operations dynamically, adjusting to changes in patient flow, demand, and resources. We provide a holistic view of hospital operations by converting real-time location data of patients, staff, and equipment into actionable insights, predictions, and recommendations using AI.

Over the past 24 months, Kontakt.io has entered a new growth trajectory. We grew from 70 to 130 people and quadrupled our ARR - all while remaining extremely capital-efficient. Now, we are entering the next growth stage, taking the business to $100M+ ARR. Following our $50M investment from Goldman Sachs, we seek a tech- and cloud-savy VP of Engineering to join our Engineering team.

The VP of Engineering will be a hands-on leader responsible for overseeing the 50+ engineering team in Poland, ensuring the successful delivery of innovative products and solutions. This role demands a balance of technical expertise, leadership skills, and strategic vision to drive the company's growth and maintain its competitive edge in the market. The VP of Engineering will report to the NYC-based CTO/SVP.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute the engineering roadmap that supports our strategic objectives and product development plans.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including product management, sales, and marketing, to align engineering efforts with business needs.

  • Drive the adoption of best practices in software development, system architecture, and project management.

  • Provide strategic and technical direction and leadership to the engineering team, ensuring alignment with our vision and goals.

  • Optimize engineering processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and quality.

  • Oversee the design and architecture of scalable, robust, and secure solutions.

  • Guide the team in building high-performance systems that handle large-scale data processing and real-time analytics.

  • Lead efforts to enhance the scalability of products to support business growth and expanding customer base.

We expect

  • Depth of knowledge in cloud architecture and development in SaaS companies, desire to be hands-on involved.

  • Proven ability to design scalable, robust, and secure systems: experience with microservices architecture, ability to design systems that handle high traffic and large data volumes, involvement in research and development initiatives.

  • Proven track-record of increasing engineering output and velocity: day to day management.

  • Ability to set and execute a long-term engineering strategy: Specific examples of scaling operations and challenges faced and solutions implemented during growth phases. 50% New product vs. 50% maintenance.

  • Ability to work effectively with Product, Marketing, Sales, and other departments: experience working in international and distributed teams with Product Management located in the US, ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience dealing with external stakeholders, including investors and partners.

  • Understanding of business operations and key performance metrics. Demonstrates a clear focus on achieving return on investment for engineering projects.

  • Strong opinions loosely held, no ego and 100% Ownership: Missionary and not waiting for people to tell him what to do.
