We are looking for a leader to build a world-class data organization to help grow, scale and transform the data and analytics engineering teams at COMPLY in a rich and rapidly growing dataset environment. Reporting to the CTO, this role will be responsible for all aspects of Data Engineering including: acquisition, ingestion, normalization and analytics. You have the technical expertise to help architect the future of our data platform running in the cloud as well as lead a variety of data driven engineering teams delivering software-based data solutions. You will collaborate with the various business units to drive deep insights into our data sitting on a scalable infrastructure. You will partner with business and product teams to ensure we can process data efficiently and get predictive insights supporting the growth of our business. This person also has the unique opportunity to define our approach to artificial intelligence, big data, analytics, algorithmic and/or machine learning approaches by leveraging the vast amount of data we collect opening up unlimited opportunities for innovation.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and lead the various data engineering teams delivering Data Platform software solutions through agile software development methodologies

  • Ensure that your teams deliver solutions with a focus on a reliability, scalability, security, clear architecture boundaries / interfaces, and best in class operability for data pipelines

  • Drive stewardship for data solutions, with a model of continual improvement for people, process, and technology

  • Engage with key stakeholders across value streams to define and harvest powerful data insights at scale

  • Create a self-service data culture enabling data to be used across the entire company in a secure and scalable way

  • Build an analytics roadmap that demonstrates continued business value and growth in technical capability

  • Incubate and grow the use of AI capabilities to drive innovation, efficiency and create customer value

  • Hire, nurture and grow a diverse data-driven team

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in data science, engineering, mathematics, statistics/applied statistics, computer science or related quantitative field

  • Experience building and running highly engaged and productive Engineering teams with a strong data / back-end component

  • Strong understanding of modern application and data architecture patterns and experience leading teams to implement them

  • 5+ years of direct people leadership experience (Coaching, Talent Acquisition, Performance Management, etc.)

  • 3+ years managing Data Analytics, Data Science and Data Engineering teams

  • 8+ years of industry experience in data science, data engineering or data insights

  • Experience as a senior developer with the technical depth to plot a strategic roadmap, and has strong technical vision and sound principles through experience in multiple data disciplines

  • The ability to collaborate with all leaders in the organization to drive a strong data culture at the company

  • Experience building scalable data platforms using Cloud services

  • A self-directed person who can set clear goals for their team, keep their teams accountable and drive a long-term technical roadmap

  • A good communicator who can easily navigate the organization and facilitate strategic conversations with key stakeholders

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in financial services

  • Certifications: AWS (preferred), Azure, or GCP.

  • Technical integration of high scale data centric APIs - both data retrieval and serving data to consumer applications

  • Experience with product management practices

  • Exposure to AI models and experience scaling AI/ML platforms

  • Experience collaborating with production operations teams / data operations teams

$185,000 - $200,000 a year

The compensation range for this role is specific to the United States and takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, training, licensure and certification, and experience. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role would be $185,000-$200,000 plus applicable bonus/benefits offerings, etc as those similarly situated within the Company.
