Company Description

INFICON is a leading provider of innovative instrumentation, critical sensor technologies, and Smart Manufacturing/Industry 4.0 software solutions that enhance productivity and quality of tools, processes, and complete factories. These analysis, measurement and control products are essential for gas leak detection in air conditioning/refrigeration and automotive manufacturing. They are vital to equipment manufacturers and end-users in the complex fabrication of semiconductors and thin film coatings for optics, flat panel displays, solar cells and industrial vacuum coating applications. Other users of our vacuum-based processes include the life sciences, research, aerospace, packaging, heat treatment, laser cutting and many other industrial processes. We also leverage our expertise in vacuum technology to provide unique, toxic chemical analysis products for emergency response, security, and environmental health and safety.

Job Description

We specialize in software for monitoring semiconductor manufacturing processes and are seeking a talented UI/UX Designer with a passion for creating modern, responsive designs. In this role, you will play a key part in transforming the UI of our products, bringing a fresh and intuitive user experience to complex technical processes. We believe that a deep understanding of what users need and how they interact with our software (user experience knowledge) combined with a keen eye for design (visual design knowledge) are both essential for creating world-class technical products.

Your primary responsibility will be to overhaul our existing application interfaces, introducing a modern, responsive design while developing and maintaining a comprehensive style guide. This role requires someone who can grasp the intricacies of our industry and translate them into a user-friendly design language that enhances our product's usability and appeal.

If you have a love for design and experience in crafting exceptional user experiences, we encourage you to apply. Join us in our mission to not only understand the technicalities of semiconductor manufacturing but to also present them through an engaging and intuitive interface.

  • Determine appropriate solutions and make relevant recommendations to team and clients.
  • Engage in outside-the-box thinking to provide high value to clients.
  • Be actively involved in projects and motivated with innovative ideas.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Enterprise Application Design: Proven track record in designing for data-dense enterprise applications, with a focus on creating clear, user-friendly interfaces.
  • Data Visualization Skills: Ability to craft compelling data visualizations that simplify complex information for user comprehension.
  • Style Guide Development: Experience in creating and maintaining a detailed style guide to ensure consistency and coherence across all product interfaces.
  • Responsive Design Proficiency: Adept at designing flexible user interfaces that ensure a seamless user experience across various devices and screen sizes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Comfortable working with Application Engineers to translate complex feature requests into intuitive user experiences.
  • Figma Expertise: Demonstrated experience in developing a Figma component library to streamline and standardize design processes.

Preferred Skills:
  • Material Design Experience: Familiarity with Material Design principles and experience applying them to create intuitive and visually appealing applications.
  • Industry Knowledge: Although not required, previous work in semiconductor manufacturing or a similar manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
