Location: Remote US, strong preference for New York
Reddit’s Communications org tells our story inside and out. The team aligns employees through internal rhythms while also informing the public with external programs across corporate, policy and safety, consumer/product, international, social/B2B, and trade communications. We are now seeking a Trust & Safety Communications Manager to help shape and execute Reddit’s media and stakeholder narrative around content moderation, user safety, platform policies, and emerging legal / regulatory issues. This is an individual contributor position and the person will play a pivotal role in explaining Reddit’s safety model to the public, building trust with users and external partners, and strengthening our reputation as a platform committed to privacy, free expression, and responsible innovation.
The ideal candidate is a proactive communicator who understands Internet culture, thrives in fast-moving environments, and can translate complex technical, legal, and policy concepts into clear, compelling language.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Rapid response & issues management:
Serve as the first line of response for emerging media issues (policy changes, safety incidents, regulatory developments, litigation, etc.)
Draft and refine statements, FAQs, reactive messaging, and press materials quickly and accurately
Monitor and surface trends, narratives, and risks to cross-functional partners in real time
Proactive narrative development
Build trust & safety-focused narratives that reinforce Reddit’s content moderation framework and privacy model
Develop and execute proactive media strategies / comms plans highlighting Reddit’s safety systems, transparency efforts, and policy evolution
Coordinate safety-focused media interviews, briefings, and speaking opportunities; manage logistics, prep, and follow-ups.
Cross-functional collaboration
Work closely with Legal, Safety, Public Policy, Product, and other teams to ensure consistent messaging and alignment
Project-manage multi-team initiatives, ensuring timely delivery of comms assets and stakeholder review
Support major safety product, policy, or legal announcements with comms planning, drafting, and coordination
Research & Strategic insight
Conduct research on industry trends, emerging risks, regulatory landscapes, and best practices, including producing recommendations and analysis based on this research
Track global safety developments and provide region-specific comms guidance as needed
Measurement & Reporting
Track and report out the impact of Trust & Safety communications
Maintain issue trackers, media coverage reports, and cross-functional alert systems

In addition to base salary, this job is eligible to receive equity in the form of restricted stock units, and depending on the position offered, it may also be eligible to receive a commission. The base pay range for this position is:
$154,700—$216,600 USD
