Description

About Reserv

Reserv is an insurtech creating and incubating cutting-edge AI and automation technology to bring efficiency and simplicity to claims. Founded by insurtech veterans with deep experience in SaaS and digital claims, Reserv is venture-backed by Bain Capital and Altai Ventures and began operations in May 2022. We are focused on automating highly manual tasks to tackle long-standing problems in claims and set a new standard for TPAs, insurance technology providers, and adjusters alike.

We have ambitious (but attainable!) goals and need adjusters who can work in an evolving environment. If building a leading TPA and the prospect of tackling the long-standing challenges of the claims role sounds exciting, we can’t wait to meet you.

About the role

As a Team Lead at Reserv, you will be a working leader providing support to a Claims Manager with leadership and claim technical responsibilities. Leadership responsibilities will include overseeing work completed by Commercial Total Loss Auto Claims adjusters. We are looking for your background and experience to drive operational effectiveness, particularly through leveraging technology and analytics to improve efficiency and performance.

You will serve a critical role with the team, the customers, and the client. This role balances management responsibilities with individual contributor responsibilities when volume dictates the need for hands-on claim support.

Who you are

Highly motivated, growth-oriented, impactful, and influential Claims professional with a strong track record of success in commercial auto claims adjudication Strong leader with formal management experience or a demonstrated history of peer and project leadership Tech-oriented and excited about building a technology-driven claims organization while delivering excellent service Passionate claims professional who cares deeply about their team, the customer, and the overall claims experience Empathetic leader who exercises patience and understanding in all interactions Strong sense of urgency without the expectation of working at all hours Creative thinker who challenges assumptions and finds innovative ways to leverage technology and team strengths Curious and inquisitive, seeking to understand the full picture in order to make sound, timely decisions Problem solver with the ability to dive into details while maintaining focus on the bigger picture Anti-status quo mindset — you don’t just want change, you act on it Communicative and comfortable with phone-based interactions throughout the claims process And yes, a sense of humor — because claims are hard enough already

What we need

We need you to do all the things typical to the role:

Demonstrate flexibility by moving between claims handling, coaching, and feedback Maintain agility with the ability to pivot priorities quickly Consistently achieve or exceed goals while overcoming obstacles Implement and maintain best practices for claims handling, including intake, investigation, evaluation, settlement, and recovery Align team performance with client and customer expectations Serve as a resource for escalated claims Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and professional development Attract, hire, retain, and help train high-performing team members in partnership with leadership Prepare and present comprehensive claims reports, metrics, and analysis to clients and customers; advise on claim trends and loss mitigation

Job Duties

Serve as backup leader when the Manager is out of office Manage and support direct reports Oversee onboarding tasks, system access, and new hire cultural immersion Act as a subject matter expert for first-line questions, escalations, and roundtable discussions Exercise increased reserve and payment authority and assist with moderate claim reviews Identify trends and discussion topics for team huddles and Elevated Claims Experience workshops Serve as a Customer Obsession Champion by advocating for a customer-centric mindset across the organization

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of commercial total loss experience focused on transportation claims adjusting, ideally including: Total Loss adjusting First-party Comprehensive and Collision Third-party Property Damage Liability Ride Share (TNC/Livery) experience (required)

2+ years of leadership experience, preferably in a remote environment Comfortable with technology and eager to evolve claims systems and processes to drive efficiency and better outcomes Demonstrated commitment to quality, accuracy, and attention to detail Strong integrity, ethics, and accountability when handling sensitive and confidential information Bachelor’s degree preferred (lack of one should not prevent you from applying if other qualifications are met) Active adjuster license required — resident state license if available, otherwise a Designated Home State (DHS) license

Benefits

Generous health-insurance package with nationwide coverage, vision, and dental 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching Competitive PTO policy — we want our employees refreshed, healthy, and energized Generous family leave policy Work from anywhere to support work-life balance, paired with regular corporate retreats to build culture and connection Apple laptop, large second monitor, and additional quality-of-life equipment — technology should make your job easier, not harder

Additionally, we will

Listen to your feedback to improve the long-standing challenges of the adjuster and claims role Work toward reducing and eliminating administrative burden for adjusters Foster a culture of empathy, transparency, and empowerment in a remote-first environment

At Reserv, we value diversity and believe that a variety of perspectives drives innovation and success. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and encourage those from underrepresented groups to apply. If you believe you are a good fit for this role, we would love to hear from you!
