The Opportunity

This position works remote in the DBS sales organization. The Therapy Development Manager I, DBS works in close partnership with the Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) sales organization to support the establishment of new accounts, cultivate and engage key opinion leaders (KOLs), and provide technical expertise to drive DBS therapy adoption and optimal use.

This role focuses on building strong foundational technical knowledge while developing meaningful relationships with healthcare professionals. They also assist in training internal and external stakeholders, provide technical support for complex clinical cases, and contribute creative solutions to challenging situations. Serving as a primary point of contact, this role frequently interfaces with senior Therapy Development Managers and cross‑functional teams on initiatives requiring coordination across the organization.

What You’ll Work On

  • Assists sales representatives in setting up new accounts planning to implement DBS therapy.

  • Supports ongoing training at accounts and with new/existing representatives to strengthen customer and team expertise in DBS procedures.

  • Collaborate with KOLs to promote best practices for DBS procedures and programming.

  • Partners with Senior TDM team members to provide strategic account support and facilitate communication between KOLs and Upstream/Product Development teams.

  • Supports advanced or complex DBS cases to assist customers and sales representatives.

  • Works with Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) and TDM team members on annual regional sales forecasts by tracking and summarizing customer feedback, product use, workflow/case volumes, and competitor activity.

  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing leadership to develop customer engagement strategies for enabling technologies.

  • Maintains relationships with major accounts, assisting sales representatives with account support, negotiation, and deal closure.

  • Contributes to marketing strategy development, including recommendations for product or product line revisions and pricing considerations.

  • Assists sales support and marketing teams with sales promotion, training, and market research activities.

  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant clinical, regulatory, and product developments.

  • Identifies, resolves, and helps prevent recurring issues by determining root causes.

  • Supports Company initiatives related to Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.

  • Ensures compliance with FDA regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, and standard operating procedures.

  • Maintains positive and cooperative communication with all internal and external stakeholders.

  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific/medical field, marketing, or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in medical device product areas or related disciplines, including direct sales experience.

  • Effective delegation, follow‑up, and team‑building skills.

  • Knowledge of physicians and clinical practices within the medical device market.

  • Strong judgment and experience applying advanced sales principles.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with healthcare professionals and communicate effectively across multiple organizational levels.

  • Well‑organized with the ability to balance multiple projects and meet deadlines with guidance.

  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and apply technical knowledge.

  • Ability to perform intermediate arithmetic calculations; interpret graphs, diagrams, and schedules; and apply logical problem‑solving.

  • Proficiency with commonly used computer programs and applications, including email, Microsoft Office, and graphics software.

  • Ability to work effectively in a matrixed, geographically diverse, fast‑paced environment.

  • Strong organizational, planning, and follow‑up skills with the ability to hold others accountable.

  • Willingness to travel regionally as needed to support business activities, around 50-75% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a cross‑division or enterprise environment preferred.
