The mission of the Engineering TPM team is to drive Figma’s most important cross-company engineering efforts, and we are looking for a Technical Program Manager to partner with our Tech org. The TPM team will take on oversight of the most important efforts that require coordinated technical execution across the Org in order to succeed. For 2024, our areas of focus are infrastructure and product performance, reliability, quality & developer velocity. These efforts will involve prioritization, decision making, tracking execution & driving operational excellence in those areas. Process engineering will be a key part of this leadership role. We’re looking for someone that is passionate about people, technology, and program management.
This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.
What you'll do at Figma:
Drive complex programs and projects, involving wide varieties of technical and non-technical stakeholders, across product areas at Figma. This includes managing project priorities, schedules, ensuring projects are properly scoped and resourced, identifying risks, partnering closely with cross-functional collaborators, and clearly communicating progress and outcomes to stakeholders from IC to leadership altitudes.
Have extensive influence in defining processes that enable greater collaboration within and across our product, engineering, and cross-functional organizations like marketing, sales, and support. This could be anything from tooling and documentation hygiene for product teams, to team-wide rituals and culture.
Be a critical voice in the development of a best-in-class product and engineering operations culture.
Run programs that cross engineering team boundaries and involve significant product, business, and coordination complexity. This could include one or more of the following:
Solidifying Platform foundations
Eng-wide Quality and DevOps improvements and SLA tracking
New feature development for product roadmap delivery
Driving high-visibility xfn forums and Config Readiness
Process Engineering as we mature our SDLC. Portfolio level reporting, Xfn Engineering Planning and OKR tracking
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
4+ years of technical program management and/or product management experience
Expertise in organizing and driving complex initiatives like multi-team product launches and multi-quarter platform migrations
Experience operating in ambiguity, shepherding product, process, and/or engineering programs from concept to completion
Ability to articulate complexity in simple terms, and a knack for incorporating using metrics, end-user feedback, etc. in communications
The ability to form close, effective stakeholder relationships and manage competing priorities and incentives
Experience producing high-quality, intuitive documentation for internal tools and processes, especially in Notion
Experience building and maintaining automated project dashboards (Asana, Mode, Datadog) and integrations
While it’s not required, it’s an added plus if you also have:
Strong bias to action, self-motivation and curiosity, with desire to bring people together and deliver high quality results in the constantly evolving growth and excitement of a start-up culture
Familiarity with a modern scaled web stack (AWS, Sinatra, React) would be valuable
Familiarity with ML and/or mobile development is a plus, but not a requirement
