Summary of Responsibility

As a Team Leader, you will be instrumental in driving the success of our engineering projects, ensuring they not only meet but exceed our high standards of quality and innovation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead by Example: Actively develop and participate in the improvement of our CMS application leveraging your coding skills - including Ruby on Rails and Javascript development.

• Technical Leadership and Hands-on Involvement: Maintain an active role in coding and technical decision-making, ensuring high-quality deliverables. Guide and influence the team in adopting new technologies and best practices.

• People Leadership and Coaching : Mentor a team of engineers, fostering their professional growth. Act as a coach to enhance their technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork.

• Strategic Partnership with Product Owner : Act as the 'best friend' for the Product Owner, collaborating closely to shape product requirements, define scope, and ensure the team's work aligns with business goals.

• Project and Quality Management : Oversee project timelines, delivery, and quality. Implement and maintain rigorous testing and quality assurance processes.

• Collaborative Team Environment : Cultivate a positive, collaborative, and innovative team culture. Encourage continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the team.

• Stakeholder Communication : Serve as a key point of contact between the engineering team, product management, and other stakeholders. Ensure clear communication and alignment on project goals and progress.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in software engineering, with a proven track record in technical leadership

• Deep technical proficiency across the full stack:

  • Backend: Ruby on Rails (JRuby), Rails engines architecture, PostgreSQL optimization

  • Frontend: React, JavaScript/TypeScript, modern build tools (Webpack/Vite), microfrontends

  • Testing: RSpec, Vitest/Jest, test-driven development practices

  • Architectural understanding of modular monolith patterns and service-oriented design

• Strong DevOps and infrastructure experience:

  • Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Cloud platforms (GCP strongly preferred, AWS a plus)

  • CI/CD pipeline design and deployment automation

  • Production monitoring, debugging, and performance optimization (New Relic, etc.)

• Strong hands-on technical skills with a deep understanding of software development processes and best practices

• Excellent collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with Product Owners and cross-functional teams

• Strong coaching and mentoring abilities, with a focus on developing high-performing teams

• Passion for quality and delivery excellence, with a keen eye for detail.

• Demonstrated expertise in software development methodologies such as Scrum or SAFe
