The team combines financial analysis, forecasting, and business context to guide strategy and ensure the company is building sustainably.

The Strategic Finance team is excited to hire an MBA intern for Summer 2026! In this role, you will work across various business units to support strategic, financial, and operational initiatives. You’ll partner closely with finance, product, and business leaders to analyze growth opportunities, evaluate investments, and inform key decision-making. During this internship, you’ll be able to combine financial expertise, analytics skills, and active thinking to make a lasting impact.

*Mercury is a fintech company, not an FDIC-insured bank. Banking services provided through Choice Financial Group and Column N.A., Members FDIC.

Your Impact

You'll be a key player in Mercury's financial evolution, working directly with the Finance Leadership:

  • Own 1-2 significant projects throughout the summer across one or more of the Strategic Finance subteams (GTM, Ops, etc.)

  • Contribute to ongoing, ad-hoc projects in partnership with Strategic Finance team members

Actual projects will be determined closer to start of internship based on business need and subject matter desires of intern

Your Growth Journey

This role offers a unique opportunity to:

  • Work across the Strategic Finance team, gaining exposure to subject matter that spans Mercury’s entire business, from marketing to risk to operations to headcount

  • Gain an inside perspective of how finance is run at a fast growing company that is rapidly scaling its team, customer base, and product offerings

  • Test out your own hypotheses about where you may want to specialize in the future by gaining hands on project experience

What You Bring

  • Prior experience working with financial institutions, in an operational role in product, finance, strategy, BizOps, or similar function, or serving Financial Institution clients in Investment Banking or Management Consulting

  • Strong comfort and familiarity with financial concepts (P&L, balance sheet, unit economics) and core metrics relevant for financial institutions

  • (Preferred, but not required) Prior experience working in a startup environment or with fast growing technology companies

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to go from “0-60” on new topics quickly

This is a paid full-time remote summer internship for 10-12 weeks between May-August. This internship is intended for individuals enrolled in an MBA program.

Compensation

  • The hourly rate for candidates based in the US is $40/hr.
