As a Staff Software Engineer on the Stream Data Plane team, you will develop the software that focusses on how customers process their data as it flows through the Stream product. More importantly, you will lead the UI developers on the team as a technical liaison, a mentor, and feature owner as well as help drive the UI team to delivering endeavors on time and with high quality.  You will also be partnering with other business functions to deliver value with a customers first approach, and have end-to-end ownership of the software features, components, and services that you build.

As An Active Member of This Team, You Will

• Develop frontend features to empower customers to easily configure routes, pipelines, packs, and all other pieces to help them move/test their flowing data

• Develop frontend features across other business functions when needed to help other teams succeed

• Lead the UI developers as a technical lead and help the developers grow

• Design, develop, test, and maintain code that produces the desired outcomes and positive user experiences for our customers

• Ensure product features are working as expected by creating robust test plans and automated tests 

• Collaborate with other engineers, UX designers, and product managers to translate feature specifications into technical designs and implementable code

• Have end-to-end ownership of the software you develop, regularly participating in your team’s on-call/support rotation

• Be a driver, take the initiative to help the larger team reach desired outcomes even if it’s outside your job description

 If You've Got It, We Want It

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar field

• 5+ years experience in professional software development

• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code

• Experience with frontend development  (specifically, React and Typescript and a very good understanding of CSS)

• Experience using assertion frameworks and tools to automate regression tests (e.g. CodeceptJS, Mocha, Cypress, Jest)

• Experience with advanced software development in large-scale, highly available, distributed systems

• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems

• Excellent verbal and written communication, ability to clearly and concisely articulate complex technical topics to stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or similar field

• Professional experience developing software using React and TypeScript

• Prior experience working on data intensive applications and/or data streams processing

• Experience using Docker and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP

Salary Range ($195,000 - $230,000)

The salary for this role is dependent on geographic location. The salary offered within the range described will be based on the individual candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.  In addition to a competitive salary, Cribl also offers a generous benefits package which includes health, dental, vision, short-term disability, and life insurance, paid holidays and paid time off, a fertility treatment benefit, 401(k), equity, and eligibility for a discretionary company-wide bonus.
