Staff Software Engineer - Platform
The location is remote in Poland only at this time / Umowa o Pracę Why You’ll Love This Role
You’ll play a pivotal role in evolving Cribl Cloud, the engine that powers our suite of observability products. As a Staff Engineer, you occupy the vital space between deep-dive execution and broad technical leadership. You will own the architecture of complex sub-systems while remaining a 'player-coach' who loves to ship code.
You’ll be the person the team looks to for solving the 'hard problems', whether that’s optimizing a distributed system for massive scale or re-architecting a core service for better developer velocity. This isn't just about maintaining; it’s about building the future of how data flows through the cloud.
As An Active Member Of Our Team, You Will…
Design, build, and own highly scalable, cloud-native services using TypeScript, Node.js, and React.
Lead the technical execution of large, cross-cutting initiatives from initial design through production delivery.
Act as the technical glue between long-term strategic visions and the team’s daily execution to ensure architectural integrity.
Raise the engineering bar through rigorous design reviews, deep-dive code reviews, and by advocating for observability and security at every level.
Tackle unique scaling challenges by designing systems that handle massive data throughput with minimal latency.
Mentor and grow the technical skills of the engineers around you, fostering a culture of curiosity and continuous improvement.
Partner closely with Product, Infrastructure, and Engineering leadership to translate ambitious requirements into robust technical solutions.
Identify technical risks early and proactively propose architectural shifts to maintain platform reliability.
This position will require stand-by, on-call, or off-hours duties.
If You’ve Got It – We Want It
Extensive experience building and operating production-grade full-stack applications using TypeScript, Node.js, and React.
Deep understanding of asynchronous programming, the Node.js event loop, and React performance optimization at scale.
Proven track record of leading complex, multi-month technical projects from ambiguity to successful deployment.
Strong background in building and consuming scalable APIs and managing state across complex distributed systems.
Deep familiarity with cloud-native development and modern container orchestration using AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Ability to influence technical direction at the team and sub-system level, looking beyond individual features to the broader ecosystem.
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
A hands-on, pragmatic mindset that balances long-term architectural health with the need to ship and iterate quickly.
Comfort working in a fully remote, fast-paced environment with a high degree of autonomy.
