Are you looking for an opportunity to build infrastructure as a service? Have you already done that and want to do it again? Then come join us!

We are a small team integrating Apache Pinot into the HubSpot technology stack. Other teams at HubSpot are using this infrastructure to power a wide variety of customer-facing features across petabytes of data. Those teams are relying on us to abstract away the complexities of managing database clusters so they can focus on their domain specific problems.

People who will succeed in this role have:

  • Deployed and managed distributed databases in a production environment

  • Utilized tools like Kubernetes to do that deployment and management work

  • Built tools to address shortcomings in either of the above points

And more generally, Staff Software Engineers at HubSpot succeed by:

  • Fostering diversity, inclusion, and belonging to maintain a space where everyone feels comfortable contributing

  • Developing solutions that have an outsized impact on the company’s goals

  • Rapidly delivering solutions that are simple, practical, and easy to use

  • Taking on and setting direction for projects that have large technical depth, breadth, or span multiple teams

  • Pushing HubSpot engineering technologies and best practices forward

  • Mentoring and teaching other engineers

  • Writing lots of code

If you’ve been consistently doing these things for a while, and you want to take on some new challenges, let’s talk!
