Staff Product Manager: Ad Campaign Recommendations and Opti-Score
Team description:
The Reddit Ads team is poised to innovate and grow rapidly like never before. This is a unique opportunity to join a high-performing team that will shape how we monetize the Reddit platform and help connect Redditors with brands they love.
The Recommendations team builds automated advertising products that drive performance across the full funnel. Our goal is to abstract complexity for advertisers—allowing them to bring budget and creative, while our systems handle targeting, bidding, delivery, and optimization. In parallel, we equip advertisers and Reddit’s sales team with transparent controls, insights, and measurement to confidently optimize campaigns, whether the objective is upper-funnel reach and frequency or lower-funnel outcomes like ROAS, app installs, and purchases.
Role description:
We are seeking a Product Manager to lead and own our Ad Recommendations & Optimization Score (Opti-Score) charter—one of the most impactful growth areas within Reddit Ads. You will own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for how advertisers discover and act on recommendations that improve campaign performance across the full funnel.
Partnering closely with Ads platform teams (including Ads Manager, Signals, Targeting, Retrieval, Reporting, and Optimization), you will build scalable recommendation and scoring products that help both brand and performance advertisers drive reach, efficiency, and ROAS.
You will collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, design, data science, sales, and marketing to deliver high-impact products that create measurable value for advertisers while supporting a high-quality user experience on Reddit
In this role, you will have significant ownership and responsibility in shaping Reddit’s overall ads automation and monetization strategy.
Responsibilities
Product Strategy & vision: Define and own the long-term vision and strategy for Recommendations (including Reddit’s version of Opti-Score), aligning it with broader business goals and market trends around ads recommendations in the industry.
Requirements gathering: Gather insights from advertisers, agencies, and sales to understand their pain points and needs. Translate these insights into innovative Recommendations products that make optimizing budgets and creative easy so advertisers and sales teams get more of what they want: reach, video views, clicks, conversions, and app installs.
Leadership: Be the owner and champion of Reddit’s Recommendations products. Define and own the opti-score that makes it easy for our advertisers and Sales team to set up performant campaigns across verticals. Drive energy and excitement for the product area within the organization and help all cross-functional teams deliver holistic solutions that make advertisers successful.
Roadmap Ownership: Build and scale Recommendations solutions that leverage Reddit’s unique data, driving efficiency and value for advertisers. Develop, prioritize, maintain, and execute the product roadmap across all Reddit teams, balancing short-term wins with long-term innovation.
Driving execution: Choose success metrics, set goals, own Opt-Score (e.g. Reddit’s Campaign and Account health scores), and create accountability within the company. Help our teams deliver against the roadmap.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, data science, design, user research, sales, marketing, legal, and other teams to ensure smooth product development. Act as the glue that keeps stakeholders aligned and on track.
Communication: As a senior member of the Product Management team and the product owner of a business line, you’ll regularly communicate across functions and the entire ads team, including frequently presenting to C-level executives.
Market Analysis: Stay current with the latest trends, technologies, and competitive landscape in the fast-moving world of ad recommendations to inform product decisions.
