If you're passionate about improving the lives of machine learning engineers and scaling our company's ML capabilities, as well as staying at the forefront of advancements in the field, then we encourage you to apply. Join our team and help us revolutionize the way we train, test, tune, manage, and deploy advanced ML models, while collaborating with a diverse and highly skilled team of data scientists and engineers who are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of ML innovation. • Collaborate with machine learning engineers to identify pain points and challenges in the development and deployment of ML models, cross-reference those pain points with the state-of-the-art literature, and generalize these improvements to be leveraged by all ML teams at Pinterest.

  • Analyze and evaluate the performance of existing machine learning models, identifying areas for improvement in preparation to work side-by-side with MLEs to make it part of their workflow.

  • Lead collaboration with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, align on project goals, and drive the implementation of new features and enhancements to the machine learning platform.

  • Help build a high-performance culture in team, where the team will bridge the gap between data science and ML engineering, leveraging data and prototyping solutions with production quality code.

  • Leverage our extensive and valuable metadata set to generate innovative suggestions and strategies, identifying efficient shortcuts to evaluate hypotheses and assess the potential of ideas.

What we’re looking for:

  • Seasoned professional with over 5 years of extensive hands-on experience in roles such as data scientist, applied scientist, software engineer, or ML engineer within the realm of machine learning.

  • A proven track record of designing and implementing highly intricate machine learning models, with a focus on optimizing performance on vast and complex datasets.

  • Deep expertise and proficiency in ML ops, exemplified by successful implementation of impactful solutions to streamline operations and enhance productivity for engineering teams at a broader organizational level.

  • Advanced skill set in crafting clean, efficient, and scalable code that adheres to industry best practices, coupled with a demonstrated ability to mentor and elevate team members to meet the highest standards of excellence.

  • Extensive knowledge and application of software development best practices, including expert utilization of version control systems like Git, to facilitate seamless collaboration, robust code management, and reproducibility across a large-scale data science environment.

  • Previously experience mentoring, coaching and up-leveling junior DS/MLEs to uphold a high bar for code quality and communication.
