The Marketing team at MyFitnessPal collaborates with all business units to help drive our business forward and help our users achieve their goals. The role of Product Marketing is to deeply understand our our consumer’s needs and to use these insights to help inform our product strategy, craft our positioning and messaging, and develop go-to-market strategies. 

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of consumer behavior and a proven track record of bringing products to market in creative ways. They should have proven experience with executing cross-channel consumer GTM strategies that deliver results, working cross-functionally with Product, Design, Engineering, UX Research and the broader Marketing & Creative teams. We’re a small team, so experience developing both GTM and creative briefs, and working directly with creative teams providing brand level feedback is a plus.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive go-to-market strategies for new product launches, including positioning, messaging, pricing, and distribution channels.

  • Partnering with UX research, leverage deep understanding of our audience to drive effective positioning, messaging and GTM strategies.

  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify market trends, customer needs, and opportunities for differentiation.

  • Develop and drive strategic marketing campaigns from inception to execution to launch.

  • Work with product, marketing and analytics to test, iterate and measure the impact of campaigns and adjust accordingly to optimize for results and critical metrics. 

  • Partner closely with Product to help shape the roadmap.

  • Raise the bar for how our brand is communicated across touchpoints, in close partnership with Product, Marketing, and Design teams, in order to build stronger associations and loyalty to our brand.

  • Dream big and bring big ideas to the table. 

  • This role reports to the VP of Product Marketing.

Qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • 4-6 years of experience in product marketing

  • Strong communication skills, especially with writing clear GTM strategies & briefs

  • Balanced left- and right-brain marketer, with exceptional problem solving and analytical skills and proven ability to turn findings into executable, strategic go-to-market plans

  • Results-oriented with an exceptional track record of developing holistic marketing strategies and plans that have consistently met or exceeded objectives

  • Ideally, you have experience with Freemium products, and have worked on pricing projects

  • Experience in conducting qualitative and quantitative research

  • Convey a can-do, positive attitude towards tackling problems and are able to see other points of view, while maintaining a practical direction. Willing to roll up your sleeves and do what is necessary to get the job done.

  • Job Location: San Francisco, or Austin TX,  preferred but open to remote

  • Travel Requirement: Approximately 10% travel will be required for this position

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at MyFitnessPal ranges from $130,000 - $145,000. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
