Sr Manager - Technical Account Management

The OpenX DSP Demand team manages all DSP relationships across the OpenX Ad Exchange. The Sr. Manager, Technical Account Management will be responsible for leading a team of Technical Account Managers and Analysts on the Demand DSP team. Reporting to the Director of Account Management,  the Sr. Manager of the TAM team will work with cross functional OpenX teams and DSP partners to ensure that OpenX is delivering superior technical service, optimizations, data driven strategic guidance and optimal efficiency across all integrated DSPs. 

The ideal candidate will be a highly strategic thinker with a deep understanding of RTB exchange optimization, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record of driving upsells, storytelling through data and maximizing programmatic efficiency. Looking for a data focused individual interested in examining information and converting data into insights that can inform and support our DSP partners in North America and EMEA regions. This includes partnering with the Exchange Optimization team, DSP AM team, and Business Development to monitor Open Exchange, deal performance, and identify opportunities to improve monetization.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive programmatic efficiency with RTB demand partners by leveraging data and client KPIs to provide strategic insights, supply path optimization and deal optimizations. 

  • Support the growth of established DSP partners around key technical areas and lead cross-functional efforts to identify and solve issues. 

  • Lead a new team of Technical AMs and Analysts while fostering a culture of continuous learning and development to enhance expertise and proficiency within the team.

  • Spearhead an evolving role: Collaborate across many internal OpenX teams to close knowledge gaps, evolve our technical operations, and find new and creative ways to monetize, upsell and elevate our DSP business.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to key customers, understanding their technical requirements and implementing solutions for DSPs by aligning our products/services/levers to meet their specific needs.

  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Identify and track trends, anomalies and data fluctuations and report relevant insights to leadership. Leverage dashboards and internal reporting tools to extract and analyze large datasets to derive actionable insights to improve DSP performance.

  • Provide detailed data and analysis for quarterly and annual client business reviews.

  • Work with internal teams to maintain and update relevant OpenX documentation for our DSP partners

  • Identify efficiencies in internal processes like dashboard consolidation, reporting needs, and automation of recurring manual reporting tasks. 

  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving consumer behaviors to remain agile and responsive in a dynamic market landscape. 

  • Play a significant role in growing the business.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years experience in a programmatic advertising role such as, optimization strategy, account management, data analytics or similar.  

  • Minimum of 3 years experience managing a technical, analytics, or strategic client service team. 

  • Capacity to thoroughly examine data sets. 

  • Ability to review data, be analytical, and proficiently use reporting tools to problem-solve. This involves not just looking at the surface-level information but delving deeper to understand patterns, trends, and outliers. Must have the ability to interpret data effectively, extract insights from raw data and multiple dashboards, identify correlations, and make data-driven recommendations or decisions. 

  • Strong storytelling skills: ability to convey ideas in an appealing way to a multitude of stakeholders

  • Very organized; ability to work quickly with great attention to detail.

  • Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills

  • Strong leader, as well as an efficient individual contributor

  • BA / BS degree or a equivalent work experience

Desired Qualifications & Skills:

  • Clear understanding of OpenX’s business and position in the market

  • Experience within ad tech, programmatic or closely related digital media industry

  • Familiarity with Google Suite and CRM or incident tracking and management systems such as Salesforce, Jira, and Looker Studio

  • Strong client service skills and knowledge of the prominent technologies within ad tech: bidstreams, DSPs, ad serving, programmatic buying, measurement and data targeting

$135,000 - $160,000 a year

OpenX is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For applicants in New York, New Jersey, California, and Colorado, the base salary range is $135,000-160,000 per year + bonus + equity + benefits. A candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, and certifications.  The salary range may differ in other states.
