Company at a Glance

OpenX is focused on unleashing the full economic potential of digital media companies. We do this by making digital advertising markets and technologies that are designed to deliver optimal value to publishers and advertisers on every ad served across all screens.

At OpenX, we have built a team that is uniquely experienced in designing and operating high-scale ad marketplaces, and we are constantly on the lookout for thoughtful, creative executors who are as fascinated as we are about finding new ways to apply a blend of market design, technical innovation, operational excellence, and empathetic partner service to the frontiers of digital advertising.

The Senior Director of Product Marketing will play a pivotal role in our growing Marketing organization and be responsible for commercializing OpenX’s offerings — specifically defining, communicating, and amplifying the message around our products, customers, and brand. This role will lead go-to-market activities across OpenX’s product and solution offerings, ensuring strategic alignment between product, sales, and marketing. Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, the Senior Director of Product Marketing will act as a key liaison between our product and revenue teams, owning the client-facing roadmap and driving impact in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Prioritization & Process: As the most important aspect of this role, the focus will be on navigating unpredictable environments, strategically prioritizing key initiatives, and implementing effective processes.

  • Lead Product Marketing Strategy: Develop and execute a clear vision and strategy for a high-performing global product marketing team that drives business objectives.

  • Go-to-Market Execution: Build a standardized, repeatable, and pragmatic go-to-market (GTM) process that effectively launches new products and solutions and supports ongoing product adoption.

  • SaaS Product Commercialization: Must have experience in bringing a SaaS user platform to market, ensuring successful adoption and sustained engagement.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Management and Sales to identify customer needs, product enhancements, and competitive positioning.

  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage insights, analytics, and competitive intelligence to refine product messaging and drive measurable business impact.

  • Message Simplification: Translate complex concepts into clear, compelling, and jargon-free marketing materials.

  • People Leadership: Manage, coach, and develop a lean, results-driven team, prioritizing the highest-impact product marketing activities.

  • Market & Competitive Analysis: Stay ahead of broader market trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape to inform strategic product positioning.

  • Adaptability & Prioritization: Navigate unpredictable environments, strategically prioritize key initiatives, and execute effectively with limited resources.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • 10-15 years of experience in marketing, with 5-10 years in product marketing (B2B advertising, marketing technology, or SaaS preferred).

  • 5+ years of people management experience, with a track record of developing and leading high-performing teams.

  • Proven success in SaaS product marketing, including launch execution and ongoing product support.

  • Strong ability to simplify and articulate complex ideas into compelling messaging.

  • Experience managing go-to-market strategies and aligning marketing with product and revenue teams.

  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, dynamic environments with the ability to prioritize strategically and execute effectively.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Asana, Slack, Hubspot, Salesforce, and agile development environments.

  • Nice-to-have: Pragmatic Marketing Certification.
