What you’ll be doing
The Sr. Director of Clinical Value and Outcomes (CV&O) candidate is an experienced managed care professional with, clinical, health economics and health policy expertise responsible for supporting the Nuvation Bio portfolio by providing clinical value discussions for both marketed assets and pipeline assets. The CV&O candidate is a highly valuable member of the Market Access Team with close connectivity to our Medical Teams. The CV&O candidate represents Nuvation Bio externally by engaging in highly credible clinical, scientific, and health economic discussions with targeted payer customers and access stakeholders, as well as other healthcare professionals as appropriate.
This role reports to the Executive Dir, Global Value and Access Strategy and will be based remotely in the U.S., although travel may be required, as needed, to perform duties at Nuvation’s corporate offices or for customer engagements.
You will be responsible for…
Support the portfolio of Nuvation Bio’s products and the development and targeted delivery of access pre-approval information exchange, through launch, and into lifecycle management.
Lead the development of Nuvation Bio’s HEOR value strategy and resultant study protocols in concert with medical partners.
Deliver and manage field-based protocols that support the development of real-world evidence to bolster the product value strategy.
Manage HEOR agency partnerships to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
Lead in partnership with medical submissions strategy for both clinical and HEOR based evidence to support pathway inclusion.
Identify, develop, and maintain scientific and business relationships with payer and access stakeholders.
Deliver clinical, scientific, and health economic data to healthcare decision-makers within managed care organizations.
Effectively engage payer and access stakeholders in clinical and scientific dialogue in the context of product value; proficiency with standard HEOR models (budget impact, cost-effectiveness, formulary design) and outcomes analysis (PROs, indirect treatment comparisons, etc) is highly desirable.
Have a deep knowledge of access dynamics within assigned payer, access stakeholders, and pathways.
Ensure medical accuracy and compliance with local procedures, ethical and legal guidelines, and directives.
Continuously assesses the medical landscape by meeting with payer and access stakeholders to understand external customer needs and expertise.
Understand the health plan landscape and actively prepare to address informational needs.
Attend medical and access conferences as well as local/regional meetings that serve as venues and forums for access stakeholders and health systems decision-makers.
Collect and provide impactful medical insights back to Nuvation Bio to be actioned in support of the strategy development.
Oversee access market research and analytics to identify key drivers of access and affordability barriers and disseminate key information and insights to internal and appropriate external partners.
What Knowledge & Experience you'll bring to us...
Deep understanding of payers (commercial/government payers), distribution and trade, physician networks, healthcare systems, and public policies associated with oncology and ability to translate this knowledge into resultant strategic opportunities.
Doctorate level degree or equivalent experience is required (PharmD, PhD, MD, MSN)
Additional advanced degree in epidemiology (MPH), economics (MBA), or HEOR highly desirable
8+ years of previous industry medical affairs experience required, preferably in MSL and managed care/health outcomes liaison role
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of payer customer segments and market access dynamics
Demonstrated expertise in building relationships and participating in credible clinical, scientific, and health economic exchange with multiple audiences
Knowledge of core HEOR concepts including study designs and models
Expertise in Oncology disease area
Thorough knowledge of local compliance
Team orientated and ability to work collaboratively towards common objectives
This role will support a specific territory and will require travel (50-75%)

The pay range for this position is $270,000 to $300,000 per year, which may factor in various geographic regions. The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location among other factors. Our full-time regular positions also include an annual performance-based bonus and long-term incentive units (equity) provided as part of our compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, depending on the level and position offered.
